    OK this is why we needed baby steps.

    No let me go look at what went wrong. FLash back using RKBatch tool to the stock ROM and make sure everything works.

    I will be back with another step again... About 1-2 hours please.

      Bob,

      It probably was not your ROM.
      I re-flashed with the boot tool and end up with the same issue.
      If I shake the tab I can cycle thru the calibration touches, but it never ends.
      I hear something rattling below the back button that I don't remember being there before.

      Took it apart and found nothing loose, put it back together.
      After leaving it for a while, I tried to boot again.
      This time I was able to calibrate with no trouble.
      Now, all seems to be fine. I will retry your ROM

      ****ALL IS WELL WITH THE Polaroid PTAB4300 finless Test1 ROM YOU SENT ME*****

          Working now.

          Wifi works, audio plays thru speaker and headphone jack, connects via USB, orientation flips as it should.

          What else should I check?

          The unlock slide goes both ways. Usually it Unlock=left to right Mute=right to left

            Cool... if it works it works period!
            I am just changing around the architecture of the ROM in prep for full on root. So these tests right now are about booting or not booting. Nothing I am doing here "yet" should change how the tab works! Only if it boots or not. Later we will be testing the speed ups and improvements!

            Sorry but it has to be this way for RK28 as I am not an expert on that yet I know I can do it right. Just need someone to hang around with the patience to test

                  Test

                  Id be willing to test this on my PMID701c but I will need some serios help bumping through adb and finding the correct driver, I cant get any to install in recovery mode.

                  I believe holding the menu key with your tablet off when you plug it into your PC forces it into recovery mode. Also with the tablet on you can hold the menu button and hit the reset button for 2 sec and it will prompt the same "unrecognized device"

                  I found safe mode lolz now if only i had a use for it lolz x2

                  Ya'll are insanely bada$$ at this, my hats off to ya'll

                      OK leaving the office now. When I get home I will be setting up the next test. Restructuring of the parameter file. We need to get system def moved to the end of the parameter file so we can then take the next step and enlarge it for ext3 making /system writable.

                      You will not need to download the full ROM. I will be supplying you a new parameter file. You will rename the current parameter file in the ROM kit you downloaded to parameter.old and put the new parameter file in the ROM kit in /image folder. Then you WILL flash the entire ROM again erasing IDB and checking the loader box. This is the part I got stuck on last time. Getting that to work when my tester ran away

                        Bob,

                        I am walking out the door and wont be back for a couple hours.
                        I have to head to Chicago for an interview in the morning.
                        Don't know how much time I can spend testing tonight, but I should be able to get some in while prepairing for tomorrow.

                          OK so here are the replacement files.

                          Parameter file. Go into my last ROM kit you downloaded and into the /image folder. Rename parameter to parameter.old so you have it backed up. Put the parameter file from this zip file into /image.

                          Now in the ROM kit is a settings.ini file. rename that to settings.old. Copy the new settings.ini from this zip into the ROM kit.

                          Flash the ROM. It is important you erase IDB for sure! Also check the loader box to flash the loader. The loader has no offset FYI.

                          http://video.freaktab.com/?subpath=f...iles_test2.zip

                          If it bricks and wont boot simple reflash with the old parameter file and the old settings.ini

                            Bob,

                            Just finished.....tried it twice......

                            These are the last two entries in the log on the right side of the flash tool.

                            ERRORownload file failed
                            ERROR:Run Failed

                              Crap.... That makes no sence. The flash should not fail like that. ALmost seems like your having some other problem now.

                              But, OK lets check... please try this.

                              Open the settings.ini file in text editor.

                              Move the position of system offset above backup

                              So the ini file says this right now:

                              Parameter_Offset=0x00000000
                              Misc_Offset=0x00002000
                              Kernel_Offset=0x00004000
                              Boot_Offset=0x00008000
                              Recovery_Offset=0x0000A000
                              Backup_Offset=0x0000E000
                              System_Offset=0x00112000

                              Change it to say this:

                              Parameter_Offset=0x00000000
                              Misc_Offset=0x00002000
                              Kernel_Offset=0x00004000
                              Boot_Offset=0x00008000
                              Recovery_Offset=0x0000A000
                              System_Offset=0x00112000
                              Backup_Offset=0x0000E000

                              Reflash.

                                Should the back-up box be checked?
