I bought the scishion v88 from gearbest 2 weeks ago, and i was not happy with it the kernel was defined as 720p even if it can support 1080p so videos on youtube was only suported as maximum 720p,even if the hdmi port is setup to 1080p i gues youtube checks if the 1080 is real or upscaled from 720p , which on this tv box it was, so yeah i can confirme that 1080p resolution is realy 720p upscaled. But i found a fix for that its a app called nomone resolution changer, you can find it on google app store. It changes the kernel registry so that 1080 resolution is real 1080 not 720. In this app you have to manualy input the resolution 1920x1080 and change the dpi from 160 to 240 so that it fills the screen. So now youtube plays 1080p video very nice even if there is some minor flicker once a minute or two. But it plays verry well. I must mention that the device has to be rooted to implement this .Please do not instal the gearbest 6.0 rom because it is not rooted and it does not work well. I was able to do that on a custom rom, here is the link; https://yadi.sk/d/OG-OrwXJ33kNiU

Some others say it didn't work for them as they did not get a 24 hz option - perhaps their TVs don't support that?

Hi all. New here and to this V88. As always with cheap Android devices, some work to be done. I have the RGB problem and my screen goes bad every so often, seems to be about 5 minutes after starting and then about after an hour, then fixes itself in about 1 minute. Or I can cycle the HDMI inputs with the remote quicky to fix. Not too bad. Kodi 17.0 working well, waiting to try 17.1 and maybe some Acestreams in Plex. Did an app clear out with RootAppDelete (phone, calendar, most Google things). I have no account on this, getting my apps from apkpure. This setup made my old MK802 work well for many years.
Now, at http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=763997 there is a UGOOS UT6 v1.11 firmware available which works for V88, though it needs a WiFi patch. What is interesting for me is that there is now a UGOOS UT6 v1.20 firmware that HAS AN RGB FORCE OPTION! I don't want to destroy my new V88 just yet, though I have done TWRP, firmwares etc. before on other devices, but I will try this some time if nobody else does it.
