Well, the Tanix launcher is just bland honestly. I for one liked the Nexbox launcher. I guess if you could take a poll of what launcher people would like to see. I can start a free straw poll and put here

Hi tech-mates thanks for the responses while i was at work any luck verifying if the rom from this thread below works full functioning on Mini M8s II S905X

"We are talking about installing SuperSU v2.76 on prahjister's modded firmware (http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...n-firmware-wip) which is already rooted with Superuser but that doesn't work properly, so you have to install SuperSU over it for a proper working root.Soon prahjister will be replacing Superuser with SuperSU in the rom so you could just wait for him to do that instead of messing with SuperSU yourself."

Im reviewing the responses and pondering if to just wait a lil bit while the brain storming and great efforts so far are at best laid down....I have never ordered a android tv amologic device unrooted and had no idea the 6.0 905x devices would not be.....and i really dont mind being brought up to speed with simple instructions step by step for me to follow to complete a root from the above rom used by "prahjister" or another other working rom to get SuperSU working while bluetooth, wifi, and audio components dont get harmed.

Not sure if you read comments on #1 post, it has been confirmed to work on Mini M8s II S905X and other S905X with the p212 board, yes it is rooted. But, as noted there is a minor issue with superuser (not a breaker). The author of the modded rom prahjister is in the works of tweaking the rom.

              See posts 105/106 about flashing.

Have a read through the thread to decide whether which firmware you want to install based upon comments and feedback so far.

I did add the fix for passthrough and autorefresh earlier but got green or corrupt screens when loading Kodi or SPMC.

I would remove the org.xbmc.kodi.zip, which will reduce the size of the ROM and start with a clean install.

It also nods in the direction of not being seen to potentially support the piracy addons.

There are plenty of automated mass install utilities out there for those that want to go down that route.

Might even be worth adding SPMC in as that is the one fork that looks to be getting some specific AMLogic support.

This is why i saud to include Ftmc that way it can be reported back to see if issue can be resolved. I have no serious issues in it now but if someone wants to test the passthrough we can go from there...

Leanback yuk lol .... Limit android when it can be all it can be....

But getting there put together small cheap mod for wifi. Works so ill load it and show how to on it. Just wana finish up few things.... I have boxes everyware and just got the misses telling me if not cleaned up garbage pail treatment coming
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

The only potential issue with loading FTMC is that it would have to replace Kodi as the two cannot be used at the same time by default.

FTMC at the moment has the RK codec, so is perhaps more orientated towards Rockchip right now.

I can certainly see the benefit of feedback, especially if there is a possibility of having both codecs available for a more all round future use.

I don't have any strong feelings either way as I would test a number of Kodi and fork builds anyway.

So put me down as a neutral on this one.

Same with launchers as I hate all of the boxy ones that come preinstalled these days, so will always switch to Nova anyway.

Of course it also depends on how many things prahjister wants to do, although we could be sadists and keep him busy forever lol

So the passthrough is not good or should I still include? Going to put in init.d so easy to disable

It didn't work for me but you may have better success, so worth seeing what results you get.

I may well have added the elements to the wrong area of init.rc

True we can always remove it if it causes same issues. Blues check with Loius but i think he added all of spmc tweeks for amilogic as well. Have any of you tested passthrough on it? Ive been running it for few dats with no issues but i dont use passthrough.

I have tested with passthrough via HDMI and SPDIF and it worked fine but did have the 7 second dropout which fingers crossed the patch can fix.

                          Who is Loius?

I vote for SPMC preinstalled since it's the best candidate for long term Amlogic support. It also has it's own user data folder so people can safely install Kodi or other forks to test with as well.
