Does anyone's KODI 16 blink or flickr a green flash on their Mini M8s II :/ whether video content is paused or playing a split second flash green will occur

Which version of the Modded firmware are you using?

im still on the original stock firmware with last update August 5th for an OTA still being patient till the kinks for the best modded firmware thats being worked on by another member before i flash to get SuperSU

Try to keep posts directly relevant to the Mod firmware as it helps not to clutter things up too much.

There is a dedicated thread for the M8S II here that may be able to answer questions about the stock firmware for that box.

Have No Male to Male USB connnector to accomplish Flash INstuctions from comment #104 and #106 is it possible to use SDcard or USB drive with the IMG files to do a FLAsh for the rom needed for the Mini M8 II S905X??....Is there any other way besides connecting to PC via Male to Male USB Connector

So tonight on the agenda

replace superuser with supersu
add fix for passthrough for testing
add fix for autorefresh for testing
add init.d
add the remote.conf to img
add update scripts so you don't have to flash brand new every time and pull down from server


Am i missing anything and should I remove the kodi build stuff?

Would remote.conf allow Remote Apps to work on this firmware directly?
If not, is there any support in hardware/firmware to allow Remote Apps to work. I have olf MK808B whihc is Rockchip and I use RKRemoteControl app on my android phone whihc is good ful functional remote. Is something like that can be added to firmware if hardware/motherboard supports it

I don't believe that it can be at present.

Cables are cheap though and will always come in handy.

The remote.conf refers to operation of the bundled physical remote controls only.

I have to stop tonight. Almist done. Working through some kinks. I can't get init.d to work like I have in the past. So far I have to have both su apks to retain root but i think I can just update su but still have to test. The passthrough hack works and stops clipping of spdif out in kodi that is loaded. Spmc it is still present. Hope it works over HDMI passthrough. Framerate gives me a green screen in kodi. Update script is working. Probably tomorrow before I post gota get some sleep

One issue I'm having, if I watch any 720p stream in Kodi with this firmware and try to stop the video it freezes for a long time and usually Kodi crashes. Doesn't seem to happen with lower quality streams. SPMC 16.4.2 works better but it crashes a lot too.

Is it possible to dump or manually build a firmware.img from these boxes? I've searched high and low for a way to do it and couldn't find anything myself.

Can someone test on each box running this command in terminal emulator "su" and"echo 2 >/sys/class/audiodsp/digital_codec". Then go into kodi settings and see if hdmi passthrough works. You have to turn turn it on in Kodi settings. Clipping stopped after doing this.

Also try to see if the command "beep" works. Might need to run beep or any audio sound before su and echo 2 >/sys/class/audiodsp/digital_codec. I had some issue with no sound last night i thought it was the way i was testing. Saw in kodi thread where if any sound was played before the echo command it would work.

Okay, either I did something wrong per your steps as I do not get audio out at all from either Kodi or even media player. Yes, I played audio file (mp3) before doing the commands. I did a reboot and was able get audio working again.

Box: Nexbox A95X S905X with "Frankenstein" modded firmware.
