I asked for Nougat so long for RK3368, since I already work on other Nougat ROM's and it will be easier to port to this device.
But I don't know when it will be possible to get it, soon or only after the Chinese New Year that is sometime in mid February and lasts a few days.

For Oreo, I haven't heard anything new yet, it will first be available for RK3328 then I can start to learn how it works then it will be easier to try to port to other devices like RK3368.

I'll try to find out more next week.

I'm busy porting Nougat to HPH RK3229 and already released a ROM with most things working very well, but still busy fixing some things.
and also trying to fix HLS streams on RK3328, so that is taking a bit of my time.
Also have to play with new RK3399 firmware I got.

With every OS update, Google tries to lock down the OS even more, so in future, custom ROM's might not even be possible anymore, looking at locked bootloaders, no way to root, Safetynet checks, Google certified, AndroidTV with no customization possible(being forced onto new tv boxes) etc.

Google, once hyped for his "open source" Android OS, is becoming more and more like M$...

Can we still expect any updates for this nice ROM? Or is the project completely closed?

I will make a small update again but later.
Most of my attention is with RK3328 firmware now.

              Hi ,

the Rom is good , but i have always Problems with overloaded RAM ,

most about 1600MB of usage , really strange , i think it is the 500MB

that is maybe swapped by System , this makes the usage high ???

System with running Apps is always about 1200MB , and total i have

only about 50 Apps installed .

This makes the System really slow , often , thats all , but now with my

X99/RK3399 i shall use this Box primary .

              greetings / gefattern

You have to flash the whole firmware update.img.

Hi mo123 , are you still planning to release an update for this ROM? Also I noticed that some stores selling rk3368 based players mention 7.1 in the specifications. Can it be true at all? I never came across 7.1 firmwares for rk3368 anywhere.

Yes, there is 7.1 firmwares on devices sold but it would be full of bugs.
RK3328 devices are now the same price or even cheaper than RK3368 with much better video playback and Linux support, so it's almost pointless to make Nougat/Oreo firmware for it if no one is even using these devices anymore.

Yes but I was under impression that you were still planning to make a small update for your mm firmware, as you mentioned previously. Is it something that is still going to happen in the near future?

                  Yes, maybe this week.

Many thanks for the upcoming update @mo123.

Just a request, if at all it is possible, please provide an Oreo build. Else, if you can help me with the steps to build and test, I can try building Oreo and provide to this community. Will wait for your reply..

If you can get the source code for Oreo then I can try to build a ROM. Rockchip already discontinued Oreo a month ago since Google force all manufacturers to be Android Pie compatible from the beginning of Nov 2018 so there won't be any bugfixes for Oreo. There is only 1 manufacturer that released a Nougat firmware so far for rk3368 full of bugs and no download link. Everyone moved on to rk3328 devices that will get Pie at the end of the year. So it's difficult to build or test something for such an old chipset but I'll keep trying to get help.

                    Hi ,

really a shame that this kind of Version jumping happens , why they making this Roms if they not come to the Endusers ,

always faster , always new , always the same with them ,

                    greetings / gefattern

Thanks for the quick response. Just thought of keeping the RK3368 based Zidoo X6 Pro since it cost US$100 when I had purchased!

Are there any chances to get Pie from RockChip for 3368, or build from scratch by ourselves?

Pie will only be finished sometime in November and it's not to say it will work on RK3368, maybe only new devices.
Everyone is on holiday in China right now, so maybe I'll only find out in a week or two if someone can help.
I'll update Marshmallow first to get it more up to date.
