My Vorke is a V1.1 PCB old.
Superceleron I recall is V1.2
Can you check your PCB version it's under the sticker on PCB if you can. pretty easy to get out 4 screws and PCB will come out.

Yes we need to know the pcb version, because on 1.1 and 1.2 are broken! i bet is 1.3 -> up

I am able to play all the same video's as Nilhar from post #133 and #135. with stock ROM 20170109.191518.V0923 and my PCB is v 1.2.
The stock Movie Player plays .VP9 t-ara perfectly and better than Kodi 16.1 but kodi is OK but seems a bit dark.

I also read the cnx review and as per Nilhar the Curvature of Earth 4K (60fps) has some artifacting in the middle portion.

In addition big_buck_bunny_4k_H264_30fps.mp4 and Sony_4K_HDR_Camp.mp4 both also play flawlessly.

Contrary to the cnx Mecool BB2 Pro review we can play .VP9?
So were does that leave us?

Purchased from GearBest December 22 on Flash Sale. I have not disassembled my BB2-Pro but I have no reason to believe that my PCB should be any newer than any one else's here.

After reading @superceleron's Post #113, and then seeing that others had success, I decided to look into my own.


VP9 Playback Testing

Test Material was found at the Official Kodi Wiki Sample Page

Specifically tested

1.)
The World in HDR HERE

2.)
The Redwoods HERE

3.)
VP9 (open-source alternative to HEVC) (YouTube)

To play the above #3.) as well as other VP9 videos directly from the YouTube.apk included with your box

Type the following into the search box in your YouTube App

Results

Suffice it to say the playback was flawless with all files even when being streamed from my Google Drive Cloud and played through the YouTube.apk


I will perform further testing as warranted, requested, etc.

And sorry about the multiple posts that was not my intention but after posting the first 2 time it said in a pop-up that my post was not allowed so I made the third with out any links and then edited them in after the post was created later the other to original post attempts got added "very strange behavior"

I just tested I'm also able to play every Vp9 video I can find on the included YouTube.apk on my BB2-Pro
