QUOTE=BenniBenassi;80156]I have found a solution how to repair being stuck in Android loader screen:

AM6 Amlogic AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box Android 4.2.2
    g18ref board
    1gb memory
    8gb APP space

Download one of the roms suitable to and modify the factory_update_param.aml file
It will clean up the system and it boots normally.

The aml file will have to look like this (replace XXXXXXXXXX with package name):

    --wipe_data
    --wipe_cache
    --wipe_media
    --update_package=/sdcard/XXXXXXXXXX

And the solution to install G-BOX MX2 branded and encrypted ROM to generic MediaBox MX OEM is also available if anyone cares.

1st test i wil carry out with existing box which has been successfully taken to the 1.1.6fw - (then to 1.2.2fw from matricom). I will attempt to downgrade back to 1.1.5fw and then attempt again to upgrade to 1.1.6 and see if it likes it or not

2nd test i will restore original NEW mbox fw dated septemeber 03 2014. Then attempt to follow my own set of instructions again to see if indeed i can go again successfully to 1.1.6fw

3rd test on a totally different mx2 box and repeat my steps again to see if this works on all mx2 motherboards with the HD18 V2.22 label.

Once i can confirm my results i will be happy to inform that the process holds true and will help all those which had my initial problem with the jump to 1.1.6fw

Please let me know if my instructions have helped you make the jump too to 1.1.6 as it will help prove the solution works for everyone.

        Thanks in advance
oh yeah and i forgot to mention i will be playing with the mag250 emulator for iptv and see how well that works on android just like xbmc if we can get this feature to work well with our boxes we can have the benefit of both iptv mag systems in the comfort of our mx2 boxes

          SUCCESS

On all tests - the steps which have been taken on 4x different MX2 boxes with the factory motherboard HD18 v2.22 works with my instruction set. All combinations no matter what the firmware are successfully upgraded or downgraded and prepared perfectly for the openelec new mtd firmware

phew finally we can sleep easy at night knowing our boxes now too can enjoy full matricom support and also the openelec firmware

          have fun everyone

Can I send you a v1.1 with the upside down Ethernet to see if you can get anything on it? I would like to run OE on that

I have no problem you sending me your box unit but im all the way out here in cyprus and may cost you a bit to send it depending on where about you are. The other problem will be you will need to paypal me over the return costs for signed delivery in case the unit decides to go missing if by chance i manage to repair it for you.

Other than that im more than happy to give your box a try for reviving it

I have an MX2 box which I've been trying to revive for the last couple of months with no success. My problem is that it won't get into recovery, even when trying to boot into recovery from SD card. I tried the magic SD card, also Dextar's nand scrubber but nothing. Any help would be much appreciated. I basically need a way of getting any ROM on it and then moving to 1.1.6 and onto Openelec.

be sure of 2 things before you continue to proceed recovery -

1st your sd card is bigger than 4gb to be sure when you are creating the magic sd card there is exactly enough room for the image to install on to.

2nd be sure your sd is readable on a pc (zip files can be opened etc and no messages of corrupt files are received)

then proceed to use recovery method with toothpic and post back results

I ended up bricking it and could not get I to boot properly and the accidently got on a custom build Linux.

This worked for me but it took me a long time to figure out what did, because I tried everything. Finally got it a second time after about 3-days an countless hours .

I will keep these up for a couple of hours, it worked for me...note I have a MX dual core not a MX2 dual....the second file reads mx2 update..but it still worked for me....good luck...and try at your own risk, but if it does not work now, what risk do you have to lose.

Depending on how badly bricked you are many methods will work but the fact remain a properly setup magic card will unbrick most nasty stuck boxes. The dexstar files again will have to be used exactly as instructed otherwise it won't work either.

i would recommend users to read the last couple of pages and the correct best process to recovery is posted many times. I will help where I can if someone is stuck but all is guaranteed to work if followed correctly.

                        Fried box

Hi guys hope someone can help. I have an mx box that was working fine till I plugged in a 12v plug. It went to standby and now when I plug a 5v in I get nothing but blue light, it's not even registered as connected to TV. Has it blown an internal fuse and now just a plastic paperweight?

I had this issue earlier where in the Blue light was on but I was getting no sigmal and about 2 months ago I tried Dexstar's scrub files and the box was back into life but today again, I had this issue and since then I have tried Dexstar's scrub files and then loading Matricom firmwares 1.1.4, 1.1.5 and even 1.1.6 multiple times but it just wont load

Not Sure what other options I have

Ok, so I've created the magic SD card (8GB) and when opening it on my PC i get a "Please insert the last disk of the Multi-Volume set and click OK to continue.". I press cancel 4-5 times until the message disappears and get into the SD card contents. When double-clicking on the mx2update.zip i get an error "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged". UWS102912pusa_121122gbox_ext.zip opens up fine however. Is this right?

Edit: I believe that's normal because when trying to open mx2update.zip from 1.1.5 FW, i also get this error.

yes you are correct - these files have been encrypted by matricom developers so no one steals their "not so great code".

So if you are running windows 7 or above this message will pop up when you insert the sd card into pc.

Make sure that all files are present and nothing else upsets those files. then you are ready to start recovery. Remember its possible you wont even get a picture when recovering but make sure when you power on you have your sd card in (not usb) the toothpic firmly inserted and pressed down. Then power on keeping tootchpic pressed for a full minute. Release and wait about 30 mins. Power off by taking plug out and remove sd card. Then power back on. remember to have hdmi cable installed and network cable disconnected

                              post back your results

you probably cooked something inside but because you still have the blue led light showing the power is going through the motherboard so to what extent the damage has taken place we wont know for sure till you also try the magic sd card recovery steps - scroll back through the forum which will detail your steps to recover your mx box
