Try getting another sd card to test also try and see if you get any actvity by plugging in a live ethernet cable in the back. Do lights come on and off to show activity?

The black screen is just because the nand is screwed up and there is no functional software on the rom. Use the nand scrub files again....leave them to work for about 20 mins. Then use the magic sd files as they were installed by default to run recovery. Leave again for 30 mins

If its not working then you may have to to send it out to get unbricked - providing you have not damaged it physically
I've tried with two different class 10 sd cards, made on xp and vista, Still no luck.

There are lights on when the ethernet light is on i've noticed.

    I'll keep trying different things.

Is there away to unbrick it using uart?

    Thanks

I would suggest to try instructions in post # 7. Use the FILE: mx2-boot-recovery.zip to boot to recovery and once in recover; apply firmware using ext sd card option. hope this helps.

the UART method is basically the hardware version of the nand scrubber. Now its not clear on any postings ive read anywhere how the correct procedure is done via this method nor am i sure of what additional software / hardware tools you will need to buy in order to attempt this. My opinion it may get even more bricked if you make a mistake with UART methods.

You should find someone on here thats maybe local to you so you may send it to them for a repair attempt if they dont mind and obviously you paying for both delivery and return costs.

I wouldnt mind you sending it to me but im out here in cyprus at the moment and the cost may be quite high for you to send it but i would be more than happy to take a look at it for you and give it a go trying to wake it up.

Im still in beleif that the box is not picking up the sd card in order to even attempt the recovery

MX box stuck at standby after current load on USB.

          Hi,
I have this exact board in my MX, cannot find any schematics.
I plugged in my tablet and I smelt burn bakelite.
Look like Q13 burn , I cannot read the component designator due to degradation.
Any one can help me find the component please ?

It is the SOT 3 terminal device could be a regulator or transistor.

          Some help please?

          Thanks guys.

AM6 Amlogic AML8726-MX Dual Core TV Box Android 4.2.2
          g18ref board
          1gb memory
          8gb APP space

Download one of the roms suitable to and modify the factory_update_param.aml file
It will clean up the system and it boots normally.

The aml file will have to look like this (replace XXXXXXXXXX with package name):

          --wipe_data
          --wipe_cache
          --wipe_media
          --update_package=/sdcard/XXXXXXXXXX

And the solution to install G-BOX MX2 branded and encrypted ROM to generic MediaBox MX OEM is also available if anyone cares.

getting spare parts for these types of motherboards will be near impossible. Even if you found the part you will have to balance the cost and time for you to invest repairing rather than just buy a new box.

Even if you send it to someone to repair they will charge you and in my experience with electronic devices once something like a short or a burnout occurs you are looking at a temp solution fix before it dies completely. It wouldnt be worth to fix when dealing with cheap electronic components.

Thanks so much for your answer.
If you can dig the part number i can try to replace my self I am somewhat of technician and I can do SMDs so if it's a transistor or regulator I can easily replace the part with an up-scaled one..
              Well assuming just that burnt.
All I need is the part that is written on it as mine is burnt beyond recognition and all photos on the net I can find are not clear enough to read the part name.

              Thanks a lot.

please circle the area component which has burnt on your board so i can open one of mine up and give you the part number

                thanks

Is there any way to resurrect a box that has neither a blue nor a red light? If I attach a 12v plug I do get a red light on the box

from what i can tell this chip is sitting in area Q13 and man is it a small print on that part. It looks like it says M0S or M05 - if im reading it upside down is could be SOW 50W the O could be a zero etc etc - i dont know if it helps you but i cant focus any deeper to get a clearer shot of it

Unfortunately it does not look like that part number is correct..

                        M05 or S0W or 50w ( zeros or O's )

sorry pal its the best i can do with the lens i have. Its definately 3 characters and its definitely close to those i mentioned above but like i say these are chinese labelled bits and who knows what they actually are unless you have the actual schematic.....maybe matricom guys can help with components?

I do not know how to thank you...
                            I appreciate the work ..
Will try to get in touch with matricom .. maybe they can help..

It would be so silly to dump such a good device for a stupid 5c component!!!

                            Again thanks for the help.

my pleasure to try to help you. Hopefully matricom can help you further although i fear they are compelled more towards the sales service rather than technical service. Looking closely at their forums it seems more people like us help with problems rather than them but im hoping they have a hardware schematic of their own boards to try and help

good luck with it and keep us posted how you get on

I spoke to the Matricom guys. No information or schamatics may be disclosed on their end.

They were nice and even offered a replacement .. but it's out of warranty and I do not have an order as it was a present.

I will keep trying around. If someone else comes across this and know the component name I would appreciate it.

                                Thanks
