Tried nearly everything mentioned on this thread except the UART Method, no luck, Blue light and Black screen. Iv got nothing to loose now, so just wondering if anyone has the details to use the UART method.

in my experience the UART method is no better than the standard methods using nand erasers and shorting pins on the board....

the chances are you have one of 2 problems - either your HDMI has thrown in the towel (as its a known fact with black screen plus blue led boxes) or the other problem is there is a jam with the nand and it becomes very tricky to wake it up.

If it doesnt cost you much to send to our workshop out here in cyprus (EU) where we can take a look at it for you for free and if it we can snap it out of that horrible black screen of death then it should only cost you 10 euros......

up to you if you fancy sending it (no need to send us everything we just need you box (no cables etc) this should drop shipping charges. Just bubblewrap the box well and then put it in an envelope and print FRAGILE on parcel and it should arrive fine. If you can track parcel for a little amount more then that would be even better .......let me know if you want me to send you shipping details if the service appeals to you

We are now going to start using a variety of different UART methods using different chipsets/boards which communicate to the g18ref models and hopefully very soon will begin posting our results and possibly some tutorials for you all providing they are not too complex and long winded.

Expected testing is to begin as soon as we receive our connectors which we hope will be in the next week or so

Managed to make all the right connections to the box for the UART connection, but neither Putty nor Rockchip can see the box. What am i missing, could it be the drivers for the MX box. The board is the one from the U6D V1.0 MX Box. Can you advice me please.

if you have tried everything on these threads then you could try us at www.vectordroid.com to help you by sending us your box for a free diagnostics test. Let me know if your interested as we have become experts unbricking these with many methods. We also work closely with the chinese engineers so we have all the tech equipement to revive your g18ref boxes

is your box not the g18ref type boards with the very familer HD18 V.1/2.xx labels printed?
UART will not work if the adapter does not understand what device you have connected it to. Check you TX / RX connections on the motherboard and you should see on your pc end a device popup sound to inform you there is a device connected correcty. It is here you check your device and add drivers if need be. Then you can either use terminal or putty to begin your recovery

mx box stuck

i have a mx android box 'but when i start it up it only goes as far as the logo mx box just after green man 'i have tried to reboot by inserting item in av connection but when menu comes up my remote wont let me scroll to what i want to do 'in other words the remote has no effect at all 'can this be fixed

Hi, try doing the same thing but with a usb keyboard plugged in before you use the reset button in av hole. Once the menu comes up you should be able to use the usb keyboard to control the menu features.

remember you can always send us your problematic boxes no matter where you bought it from for a free diagnostics and super cheap repairs starting at 12 euros for a complete firmware repair

Stuck on openelec logo

Mx2 get stuck on on second logo. I tried boot recovery, I've reset to factory and wipe cash 3 time in row like someone mention.. I know it's reading the sd card cause it tells me what files on it when trying to flash. I used different cards formatted to fat32. I tried reinstall 1.1.5 but it keeps aborting even when try to install 1.1.6. Can someone help me. Seems like this a common problem for this box.

sounds like you have a jammed NAND as well.

im afraid unless you open box up to short pins to release whats causing the jam anything else will probably fail.

Try downloading an ACEMAX firmware (MBOX firmware instead of the matricom stuff it may be a better result when flashing)

Is this a common problem with these boxes??? Is there a vid on how to UN jam the nand?? Where can I get the acemax firmware?? N will it let me run openelec?? Thanks for replying back!!

Hi,

first there are many places which show how to do a shorting of pins reset but its risky and if you do not want to risk causing more pain to the board then i would either get someone else who is familiar with electronic boards or a professional organization which specializes in these things.

I would try first the acemax firmware found on this page

you want to scroll down to where it says iptv 18 pro links. try new ones and old ones and you may get lucky without having to open up box to get to motherboard.

If this dont work you will need to research in to shorting pins 7-8 on nand chip located on the board itself

please take note this firmware will NOT let you run openelec becasue that needs to be on the special MTD partition layout that only matricoms firmware roms provide (v1.1.6 and above), This is to provide your box with the ability to unblock itself from the NAND jam. Yes its common on these boxes depending on what firmware you had and how you the user uses his android box.

Hey guys ! I have PRESTIGIO PAD2411. It's also amlogic 8726-mx based deviced. I've tried to change firmware but it looks I totally bricked it. Blue led doesn't work at all. Device starts to boot and it hangs on the boot screen. You can see boot picture and nothing more happens, only black screen. I tried to leave it for a few minutes but no result. Also I can not enter recovery.... To enter recovery I make the next steps: remove the power, press recovery button and hold it, then I insert power cable, after few seconds I release recovery button. But nothing happens (before I bricked device recovery worked fine). I've tried to create rescue sd, but no result. Please, advice !

I have this problem with MX G18REF, It is sometimes stuck at android logo sometimes stuck at MBOX logo and sometimes success booting. And I have to key in WiFi password everytime it success booting and sometimes before booting it will say android is upgrading....and go to the setup page. I have to do this everytime success booting. I've done factory setting, and just upgraded firmware using now JDQ39.20140428 Build number. Appreciate any advice here. Thanks!

I do not know why the firmware fail ... maybe it takes a another firmware? Who can help me
