I've done factory setting, and just upgraded firmware using now JDQ39.20140428 Build number. Appreciate any advice here. Thanks!
      hi,

it sounds like you have a problem with some program or the android os itself. Make sure you have backup up all your data on to a usb etc and attempt to perform a hard reset from within the recovery mode of the MX box.

Power off system - put in toothpic into A/V port and hold down the click button. Then carefullt power on and leave toothpic held down. Wait for hidden recovery menu to appear. Then you will need to first clear data, then clear cache. I would do both a couple of times before attempting the reboot the box.

Try again and attempt to use as normal. If you have still problems then you will need to attempt a jump to newer mbox firmware

      hope this helps

I do not know why the firmware fail ... maybe it takes a another firmware? Who can help me
this is not the MX box and the route to fixing may be different and the firmware is specific. You need to make sure you have correct firmware because if you can successfully flash and still not manage to start system its most likely you are flashing incorrect firmware. Otherwise it may be hardware - the NAND does not allow firmware to stick and will need closer looking at.

I am not very familar with these boxes but you can send it to us for a free attempt to repair if it does not cost too much to send it to us

hope this is of some help

easiest way to root these boxes is to flash firmware which is already rooted.

I think some of the older matricom firmwares were rooted. 1.4 for example is definitely rooted but im not sure so much 1.5

With the mbox firmwares, i not 100% sure....the 2014 firmwares are mostly locked but in my experience attempting to root a locked firmware may cause you to corrupt your firmware leading to black screen / blue led so be careful. My opinion would be to downgrade to a firmware which is rooted already

Device starts to boot and it hangs on the boot screen. You can see boot picture and nothing more happens, only black screen. I tried to leave it for a few minutes but no result. Also I can not enter recovery.... To enter recovery I make the next steps: remove the power, press recovery button and hold it, then I insert power cable, after few seconds I release recovery button. But nothing happens (before I bricked device recovery worked fine). I've tried to create rescue sd, but no result. Please, advice !
you have a custom board using the same chipset but the firmware is different. You need to find the original firmware and attempt to force flash the tablet.

I cant advise because its not a true MX board. Feel free to send to us at www.vectordroid.com for free diagnostics and if it can be revived we charge as little as 10 euros

I have original firmware but I can't flash it, cause I can't enter recovery. Original firmware has also stock recovery which can be writen to SD card. I copied firmware and recovery to sd card but it's not working either. Before I've bricked device SD card method worked.

im guessing you will have to find out what you can physically do to jump start that board into a recovery process. Have you tried bennis magic sd, replacing the core firmware files with your firmware files and using that SD to recover?

You other chances are using UART if your system allows it

Yes, I've tried something. But I believe I did it in a wrong way. Could you give me a link please with all instructions ?

im afraid ive not found a link to a straight forward instruction manual online - its pretty flakey at best and I cant describe the process because it will take hours to type it all.

UART is a hard method with no right or wrongs

you will have to try browsing online for a push in the correct direction because its a complex route if everything else fails.
Remember we could give it a try for you for free if you could send it to us to try

Ok everyone I've had a fallout with the Chinese sellers of the mx2 boxes (my suppliers basically) down to refusal of sending the newer mbox firmware for upgrading existing boxes. The problem I have is they won't supply me with the firmware without buying another load of boxes.

they have said their policy has changed as they are losing money from others using the stable mbox firmware on other branded mx2 boxes.

this got me thinking. For a few years they have been telling there are differences of the mx2 box in hardware which is why costs vary. What I discovered from people sending me many g18ref boxes is that hardware is always exactly the same as the matricom boxes the only difference is that some boxes come with a cheap unstable version of the android operating system. I've seen some so bad that even google play store doesn't load up.

a simple flash of the Chinese mbox firmware simply transforms a 40 dollar box to a 55 dollar box.

this made me thinking again, are they telling us the same white lies about the difference with the bigger brother system of the mx2 the M8 s802? The difference per unit is around 12 dollars per box but is it firmware that's different or is it different motherboards? We have to careful with the sellers as I've caught them to lie heavily to force more expensive sales of the same hardware units.

have any of you had experiences with this before?

i will end this post with my initial request to you all on this thread who have recently bought a bundle of the mx2 boxes from various sellers and help us group up the newer firmware which is released so we can take full advantage of the android updates. As leaked by accident by the supplier who formerly supplied me they seem to have a stable January 2015 mbox firmware for the mx2 and they have currently a beta February one in circulation for their tester clients.

If you have bought recently you are entitled to request the newer firmwares for recovery flash reasons. I request for your help to please share these firmwares with us as they may help us un brick our devices faster and easier than before

                        thanks in advance

exactly, i have bought multiple boxes that the chinese are waffling that they are different systems but in reality they are the same thing (same boards and same design apart from logo branding and firmware)

I bought for example a g18ref from a seller selling these mx2 boxes under the name trendnet. Now when i unboxed this i tested the system and of course i found the android system super buggy so much that even the gogole play store would crash almost immediately after trying to download something. So - very true under the untrained eye these boxes appear to be very different because of the android fw installed on them. Once i erased and installed the official MBOX firmware the thing became what i was paying for before - which was 18 dollars more expensive per unit. I have so far insatlled the matricom fw perfectly fine and openelec etc. All working with flying colour test results.

The sellers are labelling these as genuine because they have the stable firmware running on them - the ones which are cheaper are because they are running the crappy buggy fw which makes people believe they are not the same hardware.

As i said before the chinese supplier has stopped offering me firmware for the mbox merely because some of us clever asses steal the fw and use it on their cheaper buggy g18ref boards.....they lose money from this so i have had to buy more units to be eligeable for a firmware recovery file. They wont just give it to me........understandable but irratating as they could lose customers from the lack of support.

So i would appreciate anyone who is on good terms with their suppliers to see if they can get the newer fw sent to them for sharing. I hope to get my M8 fw soon (official mbox firmware)

hope this makes sense to all of you
