It's good to see that VideoStroong came back to support the M8S Pro, I thought it would be without updates. I hope he gets some upgrade to the ATV soon.

Hey, just flashed 20180830 firmware. Everything works, bus was unable to root. Tried instal SuperSU apk from TWRP, but app wont show up in app drawer. Anybody succeded rooting this firmware?

Root in an ATV firmware has more harm than good. You lose support for Fox Play, HBO, and other Streaming services.

Yes, but i don't use these services. I use torrent client and has hdd attached with stickmount, so need permissions to write to external hdd.

Be mindful that you could lose widevine L1 if you have it trying to root box.

Yes, i know that, but my box came without it anyway. Besides, i`ve rooted it before, with previous firmwares.

Ok.then no problem for you.just a warning for others who do have widevine L1 because if it is lost it can't be restored.

Solution: Go back to the last firmware you were able to do root.

Everyone is seeing that freeze in YoutTube. It's a bug with the APK. Best bet is to just wait for the fix.

I'm not going to re-release the ROMs with an older version of YouTube. However, I might consider using the v2.02.08 version in the next release based on 20180806.105401.V0213.

Hello Magendanz, welcome back home! We are glad that you have returned to development. I think this is a HOBBY for you, although it consumes a lot of your time. Welcome!

I think it's a hobby for all the ROM developers. In times of high stress from work or family, we'll go offline for a while...but eventually our own boxes need updates.

20180806.105401.V0213 ROM is for android os. (not android tv os)

This ROM(20180806) has many freezing when it works.

I will use the M8S_PRO-V0928_TVStock-20180310 ROM until you update it.
(I still want <M8S_PRO-V0213_TVStock-20180830 + YouTube TV 2.02.08> ROM.)

I always build both ATV and non-ATV ROMs from each OEM firmware release. It's really just a matter of the APK suite and permissions that you set.

That said, if this 20180806.105401.V0213 build is unstable, I'd like to hear more details.

20180806.105401.V0213 build, app runs very slowly. For example, entering setting, it takes 3 ~ 5 seconds to update screen.

I`ve solved youtube issue by unistaling the app and then install 2.02.14 version (this worked best for me). APK downloaded from here: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...02-14-release/
