New H96 Pro+ bricked itself after a couple of hours use. Help me diagnose / rescue, is the hardware dead?

Found other theme discussing newer boards compatibility, some call them "wisdom" boards, with 8 memory chips (DDR3, not LP).

Woooowwww .... this test firmware saved my life and brought my tv box back to life. Now the doubts: 1 - I searched for the file "OTA-SCV7A-A7.1.2-x64-Alfawise.H96.ProPlus.zip" in google and I found the same name in this address so I believe to be correct: http://freaktab.org/5e53ea45357608d7 Just copy to the SD card and choose the local update option through the "update" app in the test firmware and wait, without any additional procedure like using boot card maker or other? Should I mark "wipe data" and "wipe media"? 2- My H96 PRO + box was purchased on banggod without the alfawise brand. Is there any problem in using this firmware named as alfawise? 3 - After the test firmware already tried to install the stock versions of the h96 pro that did not work in the usb burning tool before this test and it worked? 4 - Is there some new firmware recommended after the "

A1. What You found is just an update of custom Rom. It would really strange if it had worked on Your Box as an update of stock fw. If it works, than You have different Box than OP.
A2. There are so many version of H96 and even more clones, that It may not work with the one You have.
A3. Don't understand the question?

e one You mentionedt and Android TV port. I have the latter, but think about flashing V7 as to many apps are incompatible with ATV.

This firmware saved my tv box the "2% error". So I wanted recommendations for the next step on how to upgrade to V7, by the burning tool or by the app "Update" itself found in the test firmware. You can also flash the firmware in post 28, if you want something close to "stock". But Superceleron firmware is superior in every way.

Is this firmware similar to the stock of the h96 pro plus and works in the tv box that did not update without the test firmware? Must be installed via burning tool right?

A1. Why You have to Wipe Data and Media? I believe it is full V4, than You can just flash V7 over it and than only Wipe Cache and Dalvik. However make a backup before flashing, so You will be able to go back in case of bootloop.
A2. You should be able as long as LEDs light up and it's recognized by PC.
A3. -
A4. Cannot say that it will work with Your Box, but the firmware from #w8 is normal stock for (at least) one of H96 Pro+ variants.

News: I confirmed that my tv box is blue PCB S32-V5 opening the box. So I downloaded the file provided byShonk in this topic: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...c_mac-20171010 I chose the following version: "aml_7.1.2_s912_q9377-H96PROPLUS_LP_mac-20171010.rar" From this link: https://mega.nz/#F!8qhRRaYJ!2ZA3VLjv...TF27g!prxFnCRA I used the burning tool 2.0.8 with the USB cable male-male and with the help of the power cable for the tv box to be recognized by PC and voilá!! Some stock rom working.
My thanks to the superceleron and the Shonk for making the salvage firmwares available and ch3mn3y for helping with some doubts. Now everything seems to work correctly and until the box error does not reattach by remote control after the power off seems to have been solved.

Correction: if change the SLEEP MODE to SHUTDOWN option the box continues without being reconnected by the remote control sometimes. I do not know if this can be related to the known deficiency of the 5V 2.5A power supply that some recommend to change by 5V 3A. Maybe the tv box can not boot sometimes because of power failure.

never got box working . no video , can not connect over usb . replaced it with a Nvidia Shield tv 2017 model 16gb and added a 120GB usb3 drive as internal ram

my banggod box with blue pcb and S32- V5 was dead and only blue led blinking, finally come back to life when i flashed SCV4 to it and changed the power adopter with new 5 volt 3 amp. one ,and it is alive again .also updated to SCV7 via ota and it is working great . thanks to superceleron and all others who helped me .

Hello guys and i am sorry if my post is irrelevant. I have bought the H96 pro+ from Banggod and when i tried to unroot using SU apk, it bricked. I tried many firm but only this worked (aml_7.1_s912_q9377-H96PROPLUS_mac-20170422) via usb burning tool 2.08

Now the box, after 2 weeks keeps crashing after boot on home screen. The wifi, or the bluetooth are frozen and its works after 2-3 times unplugging it from the "charger".

What do you suggest? I have read that the charger is shit and its better to buy 5v 3A. Maybe i should try another firmware?

hi dude. if you have a blue pcb than burn superceleron rom SCV4 for blue pcb and then update it to SCV7 via sd card method . and before that all ,firstly change your power adopter with a good one with 5 volt/ 3 amp rating. it is verry good firmware and never get crashed. if you have green pcb, use rom for green pcb,s. thanks

Could You give some more info? Photo of the board or the name of it - is there something like ZH01-912-TVBOX-V3.0 or S32-V5(LPDDR3)?
