New H96 Pro+ bricked itself after a couple of hours use. Help me diagnose / rescue, is the hardware dead?

Could You give some more info? Photo of the board or the name of it - is there something like ZH01-912-TVBOX-V3.0 or S32-V5(LPDDR3)?
According to bangood the tv box, is ddr3. When it bricked, I opened it to use the pins for flashing and I saw that it's green. Also I couldnt find the pins but the reset button worked fine and I managed to flash it.

And what about the board name? Unfortunately most H96 Pro Plus are DDR3, but it doesn't make their firmwares compatible...

Does it work or not? If yes, and if You could check board name, maybe it would help other confused users in the future.

Ok, I will open it again tomorrow.

It works, but as I mentioned some posts above, It freezes and wifi or Bluetooth or both of them, doesnt work and crashes. It works only after 3-4 plug and uplug the charger.

Hey Guy, as suggested earlier , you must replace your power adopter and all of your problems will be gone . Because most of the power adopters come along the box are creepy and they didnt provide full juice to the box ,and that lack of power causes frequent hangs and crashes.

            OK thanks...
So you think its not the firmware, its just the power adapter? Do you have a link for a test adapter to buy?

You could buy a good 5 volt /3 amp Adopter ,which are usually sold as a spare/ replacement unit for Dlink,TPlink networking devices at any computer hardware store near you .

ch3mn3y, wondering you have mentioned ZH01-912-TVBOX-v3.0.
Is it proven OK with sc rom? I thought it is not compatible.

Don't think so. As far as I know at least one V3.0 was bricked, coz of it. I only mentioned it, coz I remembered that version like this exist. As example of what MIKermit should look for.

I have the H96 Pro since sept 2017 and was working fine till 3 months ago.

The unit does not power up, red or blue light keep on blinking till I plug a new adopter.

Since then I have bought 3 new power adopters.
Somehow the power adopters do not last more then few weeks, voltages output is correct 5V, but I think the amperage is not there anymore.

                      Customer service from China sucks.

Any idea why the power adopters fail. The last one bought is 5V 3A. Hope it will last longer.

I dunno - this is the thread I've been looking for... I too bought my box from Banggood

                        The dreaded "S32-v5(LPDDR3) 2017-08-29"

                        What a pita !

Change the adaptor and stick with superceleron's roms!
