Hi, guy : ( I have a Yundoo Y8+ original rom)
Just a 2 question, I want to backup or upgrade my original rom Yundoo Y8:
- I find how to go recovery mode -> boot and put something in hole (with R))
- i download the Rom 7.1.2 - SCV1 (format .img)
- I download many tool but i never see/or react my box with my computer (windows 10 or 7), and I try 2 Usb-A cable... nothing
1) the yundoo Y8 can only communicate with Usb-C ? (with RKtools or adb session)
I try another way --> SD card+(rockchip create upgrade disk tool v1.4) but I insert the Sdcard to SDcard reader but nothing when i boot or with recovery mode...
Edit: Sorry I just buy a new Usb-C cable , now Its working - I have my anwser.
2) With SD card : Box must boot directly to sdcard? How ?Last edited by Stratanic; 06 January 2018, 23:47.

Hello, dear Superceleron!
In December 17, I ordered a Yundoo Y8 from Ali, because I have tired with my 4-year old CX-919 II, hacked and rooted by myself...
I read some reviews saying that the new Rockship CPU is very fast and overall device is solid-made, but firmware is quite buggy... But I ordered it anyway.
Reviews were correct - CPU and device is good, but firmware... It seems that our chinese friends have not tested it more than 3 minutesStrange immerse mode, blank line at top of every browser window, etc... So I was dissapointed.
Fortunately, I found a topic at Freaktab and downloaded Your 7.1.2 SCV1 firmware.
It is useful! It is excellent! It is fast and runs flawlessly! It made by competent person and "with love".
Videos at 1080p (I haven't a 4k TV) runs good, YouTube, downloading with my 5.8Ghz WiFi with more than 7Mbytes/sec... It appears to be a real thing! Also I've impressed fast UAE Amiga emulation and a lot of games with good speed! Thanx!
Double-taping "home" button to bring recent apps list is also very useful! (however, I like more classic-style launchers, like Nova)
I even asked my wife, Natalia Kozlova, to donate small money (10eur) to Your PayPal.
However... there is still some little questions, and if You kindly manage to fix them, it will make us both very happy.
1. I tried to play with andoid sound options and different players (FTMC, MX player), and didn't managed to get real 5.1 sound (through same HDMI output). I have Yamaha sound receiver and I can check on its display what kind of sound stream is coming - stereo or 5.1. My old CX-919 II was able do that ("pass-thru" in options and 5.1 sound output) but video in case 5.1 sound from that slow-CPU old box showed with freezes
Maybe Y8 also can be tuned up for 5.1 sound ?
UPD. I forgot to tell that I already tried "pass-thru" in FTMC options and only get high volume noise
2. Also I ordered Probox2 Remote+ (yes, I'm fan of air mouses! It worked with my old CX-919 II even with voice search support (mic is built-in in remote) and I found this very convinient to search some info in browsers etc.
But with Yundoo it refuses to work ;( It is a firmware issue, or... may be somebody can help me with some advices, etc?
3. This issue is in both stock firmware ( Android 6) and Yours...
I'm not an Android hacker or programmer... but it seems that Web Browser object (used in Chrome, Yandex browsers, also in some apps like Google Play's "more info" page, Z-torrent etc) has strange behaviour with air mouses - when I try to scroll page up or down ( taping with air mouse and then move up and down) page content starts SELECTing text, instead of scrolling.
Fortunately, FireFox You preinstalled in Your 7.1.2 SCV1 works correct... and this is very good and it's enough, but may be this issue also can be fixed
Nevertheless, again thank You very much for Your work, with Your firmware this crude device became really useful and enjoyable!Last edited by LightBulb; 05 February 2018, 17:32.

The default output does not select at all. What can it be ? how do I pro sound out on the speaker and not on the air mouse mele f10?

Why don't you disable USB sound routing in Developer Settings?
I already tried the Soundabout app
it does not work
I did not want to disable it as I wanted to use the voice commands that are show with google assistant
but it seems to be the only solution. not only happens with Mele f10, it happens with all air mouse voice commands
disable usb sound routing does not work

Then You can choose between launchers (like other programs in dialog "Use Nova launcher for" - click "allways", etc.
Or it can be choosed in settings, I suppose. But first You MUST install another launcher to have ability to choose it!

@ Trebor......I am not using a download manager and never have. I do have Ublock Origin installed to block ads on the latest version of Firefox. Could that be it?
Nope......just tried to download the rom again with Ublock disabled and I still get "Error: Too many concurrent download requests."
