Oficial Netflix app works here have you try to wipe Dalvik cache data and flash tough twrp ROM again?

Yep, flashed original rom with full wipes. No netflix with that firmware also. Then i did a full flash of the android tv rom and still nothing.

i maybe have lost the drm keys due to the previous brick/bad flash and from i read online one can only fix that with the original kernel. Strange thing is, that i can hear audio on the mobile app and even see subtitles, just no video (android tv app wont even start).

well, it is still a nice kodi box, just not a netflix box (my own at least)

Are you using Av cable or HDMI? With av the APP wont even start, i tried it, but with the HDMI All good, sometimes i start a episode or movie and i ear the sound but its keeps in the tittle menu, back and start again it plays well... Last ROM have some bugs for me too! Try to flash the previous ROM and see if it works

The new version is laggy and playback in Kodi is pretty awful (lots of microstutter).

Sorry if this question sounds stupid but I'm far from being a specialist

Is there any bonus to expect in installing your ROM comparing to the original one ? Perhaps better performance, a faster interface ?

The interface is completely different. Check the screenshots in the first post. And Netflix can show in Full HD.

Because the first shiepment of those box's had a proprietary OS the new ones have android tv probably based on this custom ROM!

it works fine if i unplug it from the wall and plug it back in

also how do it revert to the stock rom?
i see two methods:
1. Guest suggested using the update app in the settings of the ATV rom to flash the official rom - does this still work?
2. Tiagosantos says to use twrp -but how do i get to twrp? and what files to flash in order? which modded twrp first?

Less apps installed recent apps manager, more clean under the hood i sugest u try and see for your self if you dont like it i'l tell you how to get back to stock

Yeah it has some bug, revert to stock put the official recovery and oficial ota update zip posted some pages back on usb disk, install terminal emulator or activate the one on developer options and on teminal emu do this

su (enter)
reboot recovery (enter)
wait and voila twrp booted
advance wipe
dalvik
data
cache
system
internal

now install
select install image
choose revovery
instal as recovery
now
Reboot to recovery

now you got original recovery install update ext select udisk and choose the oficial ota
wait and reboot
voila again you got the official mecool android tv rom!

Is this the simplest way to update?

Do I have to format first?

Do I rename the 80311 OTA zip to "update.zip" first?

Just download the OTA rename it to update.zip and put on a USB stick, on the box go to settings and do a factory reset with erase all after the first boot just put the usb and go to the update app and choose local
