UPDATED - Minix Neo X7 - Finless 1.5a ROM

does anyone else experiences the same silly problem with no boot animation while booting up/ rebooting? it seems that the device goes direct to standby mode, and to bring back the screen i have to press 3 times a button on the remote. (it seems that the HDMI out is on standby)

i had the same issue on 1,4a 1080p, when i edited the build.prop file with the build.prob editor. by manual editing the file (explorer with root) i dont experience such a problem. the same happens with the 1,5 rom (1080p with large fonts/ 720 p) it seems that something in the new rom kills my hdmi!

I've been using HDMI from the beginning and I don't see this issue with Finless 1.5 or the Minix 004s.

I will fix this. I think it's because I used the build.prop from the 8/13 ROM or somehting simple like that.

This is exactly it, you were missing the ro.powerdialog.status=true line from between ro.factory.tool=0 and ro.kernel.androi.checkjni=0.

ro.factory.tool=0
ro.powerdialog.status=true
ro.kernel.android.checkjni=0

With it the Power off button is displayed!

I am adding back the other keyboard in hopes it fixes the French non-QUERTY keyboard issue.
I am providing 2 more parameter files 8GB, 10GB

UPDATE to 1.5a

UPDATE 8/26!

Per reports I have made some small changes to this ROM and calling it 1.5a.

Here is what's in it:

1) I fixed the missing power off button in the pop up dialog.
This line was missing from build.prop
ro.powerdialog.status=true
Thanks to Darebee for helping find it!

2) I also added back openWnn.apk and PinyinIME.apk as I think removing these broke non-QUERTY layouts. At leaset the French complained of this.

3) I added a 8GB and 10GB paramter file by request.

Those are the only changes to 1.5a
If you have made no root changes to /system you can just reflash this system.img only and get the fixes.
Or edit build.prop and add that line for power button. That is if you don't care about having the keyboards back.
To use a new parameter files you HAVE to erase NAND and reflash everything.

Ah OK... you have SDcard slot hardware issues?

You know what, I understand! There was a RASH of bad SDcard holders out there in late 2012 and early 2013! Look at the Tronsmart Promethus! PLAUGED with SDcard slot hardware issues!

China is a "no loss" manufacturer. That is when they know of a defect, they don't throw them away! They sell them to lower companies and sell the good stuff to higher companies! They will never EAT a large production run! They just sell them cheaper to someone that is willing buy them and put that problem in YOUR HANDS... The consumer! And sometimes, good companies get caught in this BS due to something I have know about for 15 years! The China shuffle! Mix in the bad crap into full deliveries on good product! I talk about this with LiPo batteries in a big deal. Google it!

Well... sorry to hear about bad SDcard slot hardware... but NOT the first time for me....

It's sad that these are showing up again but when someone BUYS CHEAP at too good a price, they get the China stuff that they wont THROW AWAY and WILL resell at a price that is too good to be true!


This is what we will deal with for a long time to come with China. I love products from China as I have had pretty good luck! But... as for a mass produced product, there are issues unless they are kept under control by buyers making products from their components! That is... NOT excepting the "China Shuffle".

FYI, nothing against Minix here! They probably got some of the "China Shuffle" crappy parts thrown in their supply! Surely unintended that I am sure of.

Is there a way to make the system Joy2Touch Compatible (Like Touch Emulation) ithink it was in Fineless 1.2b on Neo x5

2.I have forced shut down 6 times (in all stock and fineless Roms) a day with Sd Card installed and non shutdown without, maybe is helpfull for other User with the same expiriences .

works with a little bit Noise at the moment you toogle it

Because without perfectly working DTS passthrough I won't buy a X7.
So did you test it over HDMI or S/PDIF?
