use a full rom working
you have the reflash and push the button reset and power on about 30 seconds + -
be sure to press the two buttons. All time !!!
1.- open program and load rom
2.- press restore button in program (no release)
3.- wait ....about 30 seconds
4.-Now you can stop pressing
you work?Last edited by harris; 21 February 2014, 19:21.

thank you, i will try your solution...and let you know if it works
(did you have the same problem?)
A different solution has been suggested me by another user
he suggest to change the power adapter
but before i will try your solution , because cheaper
I already tried to re-flash the tv box, but perhaps in the wrong way:
Yesterday night i connected the tv box to my pc via otg cable.
When connected to the pc via otg, the light stays on.
Connecting the usb cable to the pc,
and pushing the reset button under the tv box, my pc detects rk31sdk device,
then asks to install drivers for it
Choosing automatic search of drivers, my
pc find drivers for 'MDB device' and install them... and the process ends
correctly
But after a few seconds, windows finds another time the 'new
hardware', and asks to install drivers... and so on
(I dont know if in
this phase i did some wrong action, this evening i will try to find and install
the right drivers...any suggestion?)
Then i downloaded the software for my tv box,
including the Rockchip updater (RKAndroidTool.exe) and latest custom rom from
wasser:
http://www.freak-tab.de/wasser/firmw...sser-1.2.4.zip
Then
i lauched the RKAndroidTool:
the first time it didn't find the device, so i
tried to disconnect the tv box, reconnect it and press the reset button under
the tv box
In that way, the RKAndroidTool detected the device.
I Clicked Erase IDB, and seems it worked fine, ending OK
Then i selected all the software :
Loader, Parameter, Misc, Kernel, Boot, Recovery, System and
clicked 'RUN'
The process started, i saw:
Testing device: OK
Flashing
Ram... OK
So i was happy, i thought i solved my problem...
instead i
solved nothing, the device still had the same behaviour as before
So i repeated the process, selecting only one update at a
time, (only the Boot , only the Recovery, only the System etc)
The process
seems always to work ok, because it ends with OK
But the tv box didn't change
behaviour, the same problem remains
I noticed that sometimes during the
update process the message 'Found RKAndroid Loader Rock USB' changed to 'NOT
FOUND',
so i had to retry pushing the reset button to make it be
found
I dont know how RKTool works, i have the suspect that messages
tells OK also if it do nothing ...
this evening i will retry, installing
the right drivers...and pressing for 30 secs the power and reset buttons before reflash, as you suggested...
perhaps i need a step by step guide because i am not very clever to install drivers and flash roms...
Thanks!

Hello,
i would like to know which version of T-R42 is my tv box
this is the snapshot of my tv box:
I see B351 V1.1
So it is V1?
Referring to this firmware:
which files i have to select for the update?
And about the RKTool:
i see there are three tabs:
one tab is Flash
one tab is Nfs
one tab is Ram
which tab i have to select to do the update?
My device had the well known power adapter problem,
now i fixed it, the power adapter now works but the HDMI output gives me no signal
I tried to flash (from flash tab) the
kernel-720p-t-r42-old.img
and all other related software (loader, parameter, misc, boot, recovery, system)
when i click RUN the process starts , download and at the end says RUN OK,
but still i have no HDMI output signal
By the way,
after doing the flashing,
my pc asks for other driver for the device:
'rxda' device... why?
what does this mean?
Thanks!

You have only to select the right path for the files in the first page.
If the old version did not work try the NEW,
next the Lewi's firmware,
and next try to restore an original firmware to control that will not be an HDMI problem..
but WIFI does not work
I tried both with the OLD and the NEW versions, and restored also the original firmware
When i go on the settings and try to enable wifi, it turns to ON for a few seconds, then it turn back to OFF...

the wifi problem is a known issue.. hope that will be fixed soon.
Wifi didn't work neither with lewi's or wasser?
try the k-R42 versions..
maybe you loose the BT but you have the wifi working..
It depends from the wifi chip.. and I don't know which chip has your board..
hope that someone more expert than me will help you

Hello,
no, V2.0 does not work...
i flashed the firmware but when the T-R42 boots,
it stays for a long time on boot,
then it stops
And now my pc is no more able to found it
Perhaps now i have to update it from recovery,
choosing 'update from external storage' but i have not the zip for this update...

Unsupported Video
I have a "Bluetooth Rk3188 quad core MK888B tv box" that geekbuying.com identifies as an "MK818". Works great with my Toshiba TV.
I hooked it up to a new Westinghouse 1080p today & the TV showed "Unsupported Format".
Any ideas whats happening or solutions?
Since the original post, I have hooked up to two different models of Westinghouse TV. One worked perfectly. Second dropped the signal and resync'd every few minutes.
Still works perfectly on my Toshiba.
Really hoping for some direction on what is causing this problem!
Thanks!Last edited by Snowman58; 13 March 2014, 20:23.

error: "device not found" when trying to root, but driver ok
Hi, i'm trying to root my box via "TPSParkyRoot.bat" but have trouble.
Box was bought in Germany as
"CS918 K-R42 Quad Core Smart TV Box Mini PC RK3188 1.6GHz 8GB 2GB RAM MK888" ,
Model is rk31sdk, Android Version is 4.2.2.
It has an option to switch on Bluetooth, but not tried.
So i think its one of the many T-R42 / K-R42 clones and i'm in the right thread.
This is how i try to root:
- I installed Rockusb device driver, this worked (i can see in device manager: rockusb-device))
1) "Connect to usb" enabled
2) "Usb debug" enabled
3) "Unknown sources" enabled
- switched off box,
- plugin microusb cable, connect with pc
- press and hold reset button
- plugin power
- press power botton (light comes red)
- PC recognizes rockusb-device
- release reset-button
- start TPSparkyRoot.bat
- get Message "daemon not running, starting on port 5037"
- get message "daemon started successfully
and then i have
"error: device not found" (3 times)
so i think the adb-commands do not work.
Tried to change adb drivers (UniversaladbDriver, ADBDriverInstaller), same error
Even tried Moborobo (not worked at all for me).
Someone can help ?
