guys how to do u flash the firmware? through recovery? how do u access recovery mode? anyone tested yet? does it work? pls share

Use rockchip batch tool 1.8 to flash firmware files with extension .img
To enter in recovery mode, you need to use a toothpick and insert it in AV hole unthil you hear a click. Cable must be a male to male USB cable. Use USB 2.0 port. Drivers need to be installed first. Hold recovery button pressed with that toothpick, and connect the USB 2.0 port to pc. Rockchip batch tool will recognize the box and will make one square green. Load the firmware file and press RESTORE button, not Upgrade.
Search on YT how to flash rockchip boxes. Is very easy.
Keep in mind that you lose stock firmware, and if you want to put it back..... Then you will have a problem. At this time, no stock firmware is avaible for download. That's way I have a big request on anyone who in capable to make a stock firmware backup (NAND backup) and post it here. Probably will take some time unthil will be available. Big thanks in advance!

It's OK. Netflix work only in SD with standards app. Netfix android tv app is not supported. But YouTube Android tv app work OK in 4k and is very stable. Also standard YouTube app is OK. But please try to make a stock firmware before. If nobody will do a backup, then stock firmware will only be a aibe when factory decide that.

you can try any firmware you want, as long as it is done for RK3328. The bootloader is very important. If it is no longer compatible with RK3328 then it will not start and the NAND memory will need to be reset

I just received this box from gearbest today, I liked the specs on their product page, so I thought of buying one. Very dissapointed with this box, very laggy, and glitchy, there is no dual band wifi or bluetooth as advertised on gearbest's product page. The youtube app can't play 4k videos, my a95x pro can handle them just fine. This is a completely garbage box, how can I get my money back, I was basically tricked into buying this box by false advertising on gearbest's behalf. I want a full refund, for this expensive piece of crap. I payed through paypal, is there any recourse that I can take to get my money back, one big thing is that they are advertising this box as having dual wifi and bluetooth, which is completely false.

I'm sorry but this firmware does not work. Only bootscreen appears, after which the device hangs. Use my firware. Is basically identical, just say is Android 8.0 not 7.2. I think in fact is 7.2 modded to display 8.0



Once again I have a call to those who have bought this device and still have the official firmware. Please make a backup and post here. You are the only one that can do this, because at this time, the only RK3328 handsets that support Android TV OS are X88 and X88 mini. Any other boxes use diffrent chipset and diffrent drivers, incompatible with this box. The factory that produces them is called B2GO and has not yet made these firmware public.
Android TV OS is awesome. It does not even compare to the classic android. Small changes can make a great firmware. In fact, the only problems are blocking Youtube and Netflix that no longer works with the factory version 5.3.1. But with Netflix can be solved if any older version is installed between 2.2.0 and 3.3.2
If these two programs are deleted from the original firmware, you can manually install versions that work correctly. At that time this device will work great and you will be very pleased. Do not forget it is Widevine L1 and Netflix will run at 1080p and Youtube at 4K. Classic android is Widevine L3 so Youtube will go 4K, but Netflix will only run SD. Also, Google Playstore will display all compatible applications because it sees it as a certified device.
So, do not miss the opportunity and make a NAND Backup before trying other firmware.

Running ATV Android 7.1

We have L1, and HDCP 2.2 on normal and 4k TV
Netflix does not play at present, Amazon Prime Looks good plays demos/previews 1080p but not full Movies and TV series
(both can't play at this current time error)
I think this box has a bit of a identity problem with Paid streaming services more to come as I tinker.

Can someone please upload a backup of the stock rom for this device? I had made a backup myself but for some reason it doesn't work, I forgot to backup the backup partition, maybe that's the issue.
Also, why is Gearbest.com is advertising this box as having 5Ghz wifi? Or dual wifi. Which is not the case, also, they have replied in the question and answers area on this product's page that it has bluetooth as well, which also not the case. There are specific question asked if this thing has dual wifi and bluetooth and they have answered falsely that it indeed does, which it not true.
