OK M9 Pro fans....looks like we are still in business.

Thanks to Lotto, I have both versions of the new firmware and I've tested each. They unpack OK.

So I'm starting work on a new version of both v1.8.

Stay tuned over the next couple of days...maybe tonight.

The wifi ROM unpacks, OK...the 3G ROM won't unpack...still no luck.

I'm not giving up yet, though.

Yes...I'm assuming so.

Again, if someone wants to try a ROM dump of this update after it is installed, it would be great.

It's kind of an advanced process, though...but greatly needed if you want more RileyROM's.

I have the wifi only version unpacked. So just stay tuned.

I need to still figure out how to unpack the 3g version.

I'm pretty sure it is a modification in the md5 checksum. This developer got creative on me. I know the file is a valid ROM because I got it to flash OK on my M7 Pro. Everything worked but the backlight on the screen...but I was able to see that it was working. I tried one method to dump the ROM but that didn't work.

This is going to be a challenge.

Randy - Can you SAVE the original OTA image? I also have no luck downloading from Pipo.cn. If it can't be obtained in a few days there, could you post it with the Debloated versions?

It is still 4.2.2. I am sorry but I do not see anything about multiuser.

Can you connect to the M9Pro with ADB via USB when you enable USB Debugging in settings? If so, can you run
ADB Version
to see if you connect with 1.0.31 (4.2.2) or use an older 1.0.26 version of ADB?

4.2.2 introduced RSA keys when you use ADB via USB and you have to Allow the client access on the Tablet. In RileyRom 1.7B, /sbin/adbd was an older version (or something else prevented) that didn't allow ADB 1.0.31 to communicate - only 1.0.26 for me. It could well be the PiPo didn't enable that feature of 4.2.2 so that the older version of ADB could be used, but I'm looking for some way to get it to work the way a standard 4.2.2 would. If anybody can get

to list the M9Pro using 1.0.31, it would tell me to look into some problem with the computers I've tried.

No I can not connect with the debugger on.

Again, both new versions the OTA and the SMS works with 3G I tested it! There is no WIFI only.

sysctl tweaks

Hey all, I am experiencing some waits / or ANRs in my pipo 1.3a riley rom. What to you think of these sysctrl tweaks:
vm.dirty_ratio = 90
vm.dirty_background_ratio = 55
vm.vfs_cache_pressure = 20
Really would love rileys 2 cents?
