        Hey Riley,

Firstly great work... You've made the tablet alot more useful to me. Have you any idea why it takes so much RAM up without many background apps running?

Also is there any chance you could compile 1.7b with the original splash / boot animation? No offence but I'm not a massive fan of what's there now. It would be much appreciated I can get boot animation changers but without learning and installing software to mess around with the kernel it seems I can't do the splash image. It would be much appreciated.

        Regards.

The boot animation is in system/media.

Using a root explorer app...like ES File Explorer or Xplore, change the preferences to allow root access.

Simply go into that folder and delete the bootanimation.zip...being careful not to change anything else.

Then, you will have the default Android bootanimation.

That won't change my kernel brand, but it will get rid of the boot animation...that's the best I can tell you.

I have to leave my mark somehow...and I really like the Freaktab artwork.

Hmmm I personally just prefer the Pipo one looks really clean and fills the screen. I'd of thought under the phone status would leave your mark?

Its not an issue, I just thought I'd ask. Cheers anyway.

                Thanks!!!!

In real life, I'm a Fire Captain for the Fire Department in my city...also a Paramedic, so I also work in the Emergency Room at our local hospital. This has been a very rewarding hobby...and I try to reflect my career into the artwork.

While I think the bootanimations are fantastic...but some folks have different taste in art...hahaha!!! The good thing is that once you are rooted, you can customize the animation to your liking. Our Art Developer, Tattman65 is experimenting with some really cool animations for the next releases of Pipo Tablets. He's a tatoo artist by trade, proves his creativity. He has figured out how to develop more animation than just flashing lights...I hope everyone likes them because I do. I think they look more professional.

Although we are only approaching the beginning of our 3rd year on Freaktab, we have developed some traditions...one of which is the branding of the ROM's....and inclusion of custom desktop backgrounds whenever possible. I've just followed the style of my mentor's...Finless Bob, and 900Supersport. That's just how we do it.

I am in favor of the Pipo's splash logo, but I think that Randy deserves the recognition and has the right to leave his trademark.

So why don't we take both and mix them? You could even add the website address (so people always knows the true origin), something like this:

What do you think Randy. How about all of you guys?

As for the animation, well Randy already told us how to change/delete it. So with this everybody wins.

                  Sincerely.

That does look pretty good. I'll work on that for the next release.

This tablet has only been out for a little while...but somehow we've had over 14,000 views on this thread since I started it on 9/15. I'd say this is the most popular Pipo tablet ever!!!!!!!!

If I didn't already have so many 10.1" tablets laying around, I'd get one myself. I'll stick with my M8 Pro and M7 Pro tabs for now.

I appreciate all of your support!!!!!!!

I appreciate what you mean....., But my (Strictly personal*) opinion is that I like it without the Pipo logo.

Pipo Logo can go into bootanimation.

The only thing I would add is the rom version i.e. "1.7a" (small font) under "RILEYROM" center justified.

*btw: i don't mean to offend anybody by my personal opinion. I just like to keep it simple and clean looking.

                          Graphics Problems?

While I love the idea of a custom ROM, and this one on paper looks awesome, I always seem to experience graphical issues with your ROMs. This is most noticeable when browsing photos using the stock app and QuickPic. The app seems to lock up when viewing in landscape. Also, I've noticed the same issues when loading certain games. I've tried playing with the Developer options, and also modifying the build.prop, but nothing seems to sort it.

I'm using the latest chinese build (language changed to English) Rooted using TPSparkyRoot.bat and manually de-bloated. No issues so far!

I'll keep my eye on this thread tho

                          Thanks again!

                            Hi,
can you specify what exactly you debloated manually?

This is what I´m about to do with my m9pro Wifi. Root Access an hopefully be able to use multiuser and other tweaks.

                            Kind regards

I like the concept, after all it is first and foremost a "PiPo". And then made better by RileyROM. Also, I would really like to see the ROM revision level tagged in the build.prop file so it would show up in Settings-->About-->"Build". And, it should be in a format that is in keeping with industry standards. Currently, how can we differentiate changes to "1.7b" that are bug corrections but not a revision level update. The conventional format should be "1.7.0", "1.7.1.0" or "1.7.1.1", "1.7.1.2", etc.

                              No offense, Just saying...

I just skimmed through the pre-installed system and user apps and removed all the chinese applications, including the pinyin input method apk.

Kept the PIPO launcher tho ;p
