I installed this rom on my MK808B and it works very well, Antutu over 12000, Epic Citadel 32fps (720p).
I would like to try kizs V4 720p kernel but I can not find a valid link.
Does someone can put it on again, I searched all the links and no one works...

Just few questions to be sure:
Does wifi and BT, work well with kizs kernel?.
Also, do I need additional cooling after flashing this kernel or not?
Currently, after several hours of use and my mk808b heating a bit, Antutu benchmark occasionally shows small artifacts (thin horizontal lines in 2D and 3D test).
Is this normal or should I have to put some cooling right now (my room was quite warm)?

I also tested Walkman rom (nov 2013 and latest xbmc one) and he is also fast, but I have a poblem when I use games in the emulator because the sound lags a lot, I donot know why.
In other applications, this is not happening only in some emulators eg. Spectaculator.
    1) Nope, kiss goodbye to Wifi/BT on the mk808b if you use mk808 kernels.
    2) Yep, the CPU gets hotter then the sun under high load. Even on stock kernels high load at 1ghz+ for a while will force a reboot.
    3) It sounds more like a power supply problem then GPU. Antutu is known to stress PSU's.
    Currently Using:
2 x Nvidia Shield TV | MiniMX III
    Retired Devices:
    MiniMX III-II | Mk808b Pro | Mk808b Plus | Raspberry Pi 1 + 2 | UBOX R89 | MK808 | MK808b | CS008 | X1 4K (rk3288_809) | CYX_809III | Ouya | CX-919 | S82 Plus | Tronstmart R68

Can I just confirm that since this rom is based from the G4 that it will install and work fine on a G4? Is Wifi working well?

I'm looking for a fast a smooth custom rom

      Thanks

        Thanks for sharing this.
Actually, last night I try to flash kizs v4 720p, but system failed to boot, not even blue light appears.
I use RK Android Tool v1.7, check only kernel, point to the right path and flash with Flash Rom button, but didnt make it and must revert to my previous nandroid backup.
Maybe I do it something wrong, but I dont know what.
Can someone tell me exact procedure to flash another kernel to MINIX rom?
Also can I use different custom kernel than kizs, prehaps some overclocked ones like this: kernel_cpu1416_gpu400_ddrstock.img (720p) ?
With this kernal, can I acheive better results in Antutu and Epic Citadel and is this safe to use without additional cooling, stable enough for everyday using?
By default I have 12800 in Antutu and 32fps in Epic Citadel with default settings and 720p hdmi resolution.

Kernels that are named like kernel_cpu1416_gpu400_ddrstock.img come from a non working tool called rkpatchomatic - don't use them, they don't work. You can flash the kernel in the tool Finless provides for his roms.

The fastest rom you can use would be Finless 1.7 and the 2dark4u kernel, expect around 52fps+ for Epic Citadel using that.

As you have an mk808b however, you will lose wifi/bt. No overclocked kernels exist for the mk808b that work correctly, you may see some that claim to work in the forum, but it's utter nonsense.

            Thanks for clarifying this.
In that case I would stay with my current Minix rom, its stable and fast enough.

Also, I'd like to connect some wirelless gamepad to my mk808b for use in emulators and I would like to know which are compatible with Minix rom?
Can I use some of these:

I'm using this ROM on my G4 with the kernel from Kirk Out! G4 720 kernel flash tool.

Flashed fine and runs fast but it crashes and reboots often. Would flashing a different kernel help? Crashes seem related to CPU and/or governor but I've tried multiple settings with SetCPU and still reboots often.

A quick question: When i am booted to CWM recovery menu can i use a wireless mouse as an input? Or should i use a keyboard? What usb slot should i use?

                Thanks

Should not be a problem. Use the "normal" USB slot (not the OTG).

                    CWM flashing

                    Hello guys

Im trying to flash this rom, and seems to complete ok.
But CWM obviously keeps the configuration and settings for apps from previous rom.
What i mean. After flashing this rom, i installed the beyond xbmc. On xbmc settings i see the exact same as with previous rom. No default settings. Even if it runs for the first time.
Also some downloaded files i had before.

I did install the com.arctablet.arctools apk reboot into recovery and then:
                    1. wipe data/factory reset
                    2. wipe cache partition
                    3. wipe dalvik cache
and then install rom from external sd card.
As i said rom flashes ok, just the "new" rom" still has some "old" leftovers...

I want a clean install. Total wipe/format. I could do a factory reset from android settings and it cleans the previous apps leftovers. But my wifi still doesnt seem to work so...
On step 1. it wipes /data but then i get a mesage "No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext." Thats where the apps are right? So it doesnt format the whole internal space.

Is this how CWM works? Can u do a clean install?

                    Thank you in advance.

To get rid of all leftovers, you have to format your internal sdcard.

You mean when im on CWM recovery?
Isnt wipe data/factory reset suppose to do that?
Anyway i ll try to manual format the partitions while on cwm.
Or you mean after i flash the rom? Cause i said i did format it through factory reset on android.

                        Comment

A factory reset does not format the sd cards. You can format it in the Android settings under "storage".

I manually formatted /sd and also some other partitions while on CWM before flashing the rom.
Seems the job is done. Fresh, clean rom now.
But still i think it should wipe the whole sd before flashing.
Like erase NAND (IDB) on finless flash tool. Otherwise whats the point?
Anyway, thank you for your time.

                              Help.

Hi. I´m very new to this, but the instructions seemed easy enough. After pressing install update there was an android for a few seconds and then the screen went black. I´ve tried to restart with and without resetbutton. Is there any way to get my device back on track?

Maybe you have a clone. Open your case and post photos of the hardware inside, then we can tell you more.
