Witch version of xbmc is installed in this firmware?
There is google play store in this firmware?

i wasnt sure if i want to have google play so i deleted it as of now.
but it can be esly added.
xbmc ver 12.3.2 moded by me a litle.

I had a play with this today but every single time that I attempted to play a stream from the likes of BBC iPlayer, Icefilms etc, everything would either freeze solid or crash XBMC after a few seconds of the video playing.

When crashing, I was returned to a black screen, where I discovered that if I pressed the Menu buttons on the remote, it bought up 3 options for setting etc.

I could not see a way to restart XBMC from here, so a reboot using the power button on long hold did the trick.

More testing to come but I can see great promise in this.

I'm just downloading it right now.
I mostly use my K-r42 for XBMC so it will be perfect for my usage.
With your firmware 2.0.4 I had a lot of crashes with different xbmc versions. I'm also loosing wifi connection, and even sometimes the box is also crashing .
So i'm happy to test a new firmware :-)

I actually don't own a 3188 box, but am considering it. I have 2 htpc's running Openelec and a Pivos with the Linux version XBMC. I'm thinking of getting one of the k-r42 boxes for my 11 year old daughter. She will be watching movies off our own wired network and occasionally using 1Channel for shows.

About half of the videos on my server are 1080p. I've read many posts regarding the k-r42 and can't really determine whether the box and the modified firmwares (including the justxbmc) will be able to play 1080 videos with no problem. The box will be on a wired network and will be directly connected to the tv (no receiver).

Sorry for the long question, just got really excited when i saw this justXBMC, which is what she'd really use it for.

if you ask me, most of my videos 1080p/720p are playing nice,
so if i was you i will buy one and you probably dont regret it;p

its just a litle show of what you can do with the justXBMC firmware.
i put it like this for my son, so its easy to start a game or video.
if i see that many people like the mod i will publish files and a litle how to.
have in mind you will need xbox controler.

Adding Customized XBMC Files

Hi,

Great work!! I tried this last night and its the first time I've been able to watch 1080P through XBMC without stuttering or drop frames!! I have the CS918. Such a great tv box but very little support or development for this unit I find.

I have customized my XBMC and I usually copy and paste my userdata and appdata folders into the xbmc file system using es file explorer so save me setting up all my customization and addons again. I did this with the es file explorer link within xbmc and all my addons loaded, but the main menu guisettings.xml did not. I know this is because the file is running and it won't overwrite. Since this build boots right into xbmc how can I replace the guisettings.xml file? Is there a way to drag the file over by plugging into a PC with some kind of software, or somehow close xbmc temporarily? Thanks.

I don't have this box yet, but if it works like xbmc does, I assume u can ftp to change files.

@Lewy, thanks for the reply. Probably going to order this box soon. Justxbmc is the selling point . Also, can I still use a usb keyboard in addition to the xbox controller. I assume yes, just checking.

XBMC app must be completely closed in order to replace the guisettings.xml file though. If XBMC is open it appears to replace file but does not so the menus are still the same. When just running android with XBMC app its easy to make certain its closed, but with justXBMC firmware, it boots into XBMC so its always running.
