    Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 2.0

Happy Halloween!!!! Our trick or treat gift from Pipo is a brand new firmware for the Pipo M9 Pro tablet...actually dated 10/30/2013. I've based v2.0 on this new firmware.

After some extensive tests with v1.9, this time, I took out as much bloatware as possible...only leaving in what was absolutely necessary.

    This ROM is:

    Rooted
    Debloated
    Multi-User added
    VPN support added
    Bluetooth GPS support added
    Init.d Support
    Busybox Support
    English Default
    CWM Recovery optional
4, 8 or 12gb user app space optional (default is 4gb)

As of now, there are no extra kernels for this ROM, like the others I've released in the last day or so.

    Boot Art by Tattman65
    Reboot app by Petrus
First Time User's Guide by Pr0xZen
    Flash Tool by Finless

    Download

    Enjoy!!!!!!

Just tried the new ROM 2.0 on two different Pipo M9 Pros with the same result. Also, installed cwm as well. Both tablets can not install Busybox Pro. Also both tablets can not restore a TB backup. Did the file system change? Is anyone else having this issue? Maybe I have a bad download? Can you post a MD5 checksum?

Update: My mistake! ROM Default Recovery needs to do the format before I can install cwm.

Stock kernel binary patched to 720 MHZ DDR @ 1.2V (stock 580 MHZ @ 1.3V) using script developed by PHJAnderson. Test at your own risk.

      kernel_cpu1608_gpu600_ddr720.zip

If you want to try 1.7 GHz or VSync patch let me know. So far these have not worked on any Pipo models

Re: Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 2.0

Most of the file locations are already set by default. The only reason to change them would be if you unzipped them in a different location. I usually just unzip the whole kit to my desktop.

Otherwise...it looks like you are set to flash with 8gb parameter.

            Well Done!

Nice one Randy, I am downloading now. I wondered why the 1.8 thread had gone quiet! It may help to put a link in at the end of that thread to let everyone know you have released this one! Will report back as soon as I can with my feedback, but I am not so adept at the battery issue yet - need to read more of the GSam manual to work out what to do!!

hi Hendra. You should have unzipped the file into one folder (this should be automatic) follow the instructions and you should be good to go. You do not need to change any of the files in the basic set up unless you need more than 4Gb application space - just reboot to flash mode, erase NAND then flash the ROM. You may need to pause between these steps and wait for the 'FOUND RK.......) to come up on the bottom of the screen - good luck.

Stop Press - maybe a problem!

It would be good if someone else would jump on board and verify this please, but I am having similar problems with this as I was with the original v1.9.....AnTuTu is showing 17531 - (18255 on stock) not that that means much to me, it seems as fast as it was? However, I am getting the same jumpy keyboards (although I am able to load them all) and I keep getting a screenshot taken when I press the home button - they are not exactly next to each other! Also Gmail app was missing - had to restore from TB, but it is normally part of the system?? - this points to something accidently removed on the debloat? Maps & YouTube also missing. I was also able to get going without the usual sign on to Google which is great, but...............Just to increase your misery Randy, OpenVPN is still not working for me, but again I can add the TUN.ko loader and after that it is fine, so I am not sure what you are doing when you say VPN support added - pptp vpn works OK as well, but then it always has. OK.....i have reflashed to stock, no problems. Reflashed to 1.9test2 allok...now reflashed to v2.0.twice from a different pc [old xp standby, not new win7] and all seems to be OK -phew! Checked multiuser on all versions only to discover vpn and multiwindow missing! I am guessing this is an android thing and will live with it for now. Thanks again Randy for a job well done.

No worries Hendra, and your English is OK - you don't need to change anything for this to work - but you do need to read the first time user guide and get the USB drivers loaded before you even look at the flashing software - have you done this yet?

Good - there are a few who don't!! Anyway, you can flash whilst charging - I do it all the time! no need to wait! By the way.....do you have a stock ROM downloaded as well just in case the flash does not work for any reason - you should be prepared for the worst and hopefully you will not need it!

                              Quick feedback on 2.0

Just installed 2.0. No problems at all, all went smooth
                              WiFi etc. all work well.
However the 'auto-reset from sleep mode' is still alive and irritating more than ever ...
Also noticed a slight decrease in performance [AnTuTu was 18822 with 1.9/T2 and is 18350 now].
System free memory increased from 62 Mb in 1.9/T2 to 138Mb .
Keeping on testing as time allows...

Thanks Randy for a well done work!

                              Wishing all a great weekend/Halloween
