    Pipo M7 Pro RileyROM 2.1.1

Today, I've been playing around with a new version of the Freaktab RK Kitchen app written by our Cube Tablet Developer, 900Supersport. This ROM is based on an intermediate Pipo firmware released by their tech support.

The ROM is debloated to the max, nothing left in that wasn't absolutely necessary.

Also, I would like to thank Geekbuying.com for supplying me the M7 Pro tablet to test with. Because of this tablet, I'm able to test ROM's for the M7 Pro, M9 Pro and M8HD tablets. They are still MY most trusted supplier of Pipo tablets.

Thanks to Freaktab member darrellr for supplying a variety of custom overclocked kernels for this ROM. You can pick and choose which one you want to try.

    Features:

    Root
    Complete Debloat
    Init.d support
    Busybox support
CWM Recovery added as an option
    4, 8 or 12gb user app space
    English Default
    Multi-User support
v2.0 has bluetooth GPS support added
    Google Play Store fixes added

    Boot Art by Tattman65
    Reboot app by Petrus
First Time User's Guide by Pr0xZen
    Flash Tool by Finless

    v2.1.1

    Enjoy!!!!!

BTW, v2.1 was a rough draft with my old kitchen...v2.1.1 is the one I decided to release based on testing.

      hey..

how about the cwm recovery. is it possible to change to cwm and tweak-kernel within the first flash, or do you recommend to flash the cwm and the kernel separately after loading the rom?

The ROM kit includes a template to make a CWM flashable zip. But, you need to flash this ROM first with the flash tool...because the system.IMG is larger and requires the new parameter settings which can't be changed via CWM.

So i cannot just replace the recovery.img against the cwm.img?

Am Ende ist alles gut, und wenn nicht alles gut ist, dann ist es auch nicht das Ende...

On the first flash you can select whatever you want. Just launch the flash tool. To the right of each part of the ROM is a browse box to click and select the file you want in the RileyROM folder.

this i found. it is so to say the base of my question.

so it is ok to change the kernel AND the recovery within the first flash.

i know how to change the file in flashtool, i just needed to know if it makes any difference to do this all in one step, or is it better to flash it separately?

That's right. No problem at all.

So far no Pipo has managed to boot and run stable with a 1.7 GHz patched kernel. My M8HD boots and works okay for a while but reboots as soon as it is put under serious load.

Until someone works out how to remove the 1375mV ceiling using a binary patch we are really relying on @DNKN to build custom kernels from scratch to get CPU/GPU overclock

Sv: Pipo M7 Pro RileyROM 2.1.1

Is there any big changes from 2.0? Thinking about staying on 2.0 if there isn't some big improvements.

Re: Pipo M7 Pro RileyROM 2.1.1

Other than the fact that this release is based on a newer firmware release that was made to improve upon the previous firmware (for whatever reason) I'm not aware of anything specific. There are no release notes that come with Pipo firmware releases. We just have to discover improvements compared with previous ROMs on our own.

2.0 was a very solid ROM for me...so if I hadn't made this newer ROM, I would have just stuck with it.

If anyone discovers anything different with this version please post your discoveries.

                          Hello,
I had to register with Freaktab so I could pass on my sincere thanks for your custom ROM(s).
For me your work has changed what was initially a very disappointing and rather unstable tablet into something that is a pleasure to use.

                          M7pro 3G
                          Currently running 1.7a with kernel_cpu1704h_gpu600_ddr720
                          CWM
                          PurePerformances X_Stock 1.4
                          CrossBreeder_goodbye_P_edition

(I'll give your latest a go as soon as I've backed everything up, and preferably remembered how I managed 1.3->1.7a without having to re-install everything.)

In spite of a whole load of installed bits 'n bobs that are probably slowing it down a touch AnTuTu gives a score of 20364...
...and much more importantly it no longer locks up all the time, the WiFi has improved, AND the 3G actually works!

                          Thank you again.

                          P.S.
If anyone dislikes the stock phone-esque UI it's easy enough to fix:
Open your build.pro file in /system
                          Change: ro.rk.systembar.tabletUI=true

                          P.P.S.
To get the full 1704Mhz I needed to fiddle with the CPU sliders in ROM Toolbox Pro. A necessary step, regardless, or a function of using a 'new' kernel with and 'old' ROM?

I use crossbreeder 7.2.13. Do you know the difference between that version and goodbye p edition?
