What exactly did you do? I can boot my M8HD into 1.7GHz but it the Antutu benchmark always forces a reboot during the CPU floating point section.

If you have some 'magic' please share!

.... Oh and are you using the patched kernel I uploaded or one you created?

      :-)

To my mind CrossBreeder made a good difference but occasionally resulted in a little 'chugging'. The latest/last version seems to have eliminated that.
Although PurePerformances is supposed to duplicate much of CrossBreeder's functionality, among other things, I wasn't convinced the former did as good a job hence my having installed one over the other.

Yes, credit where it's due I'm using your kernels. TBF all I did was install your 720 kernel over the 1.7a ROM via the installer that Riley's ROM came with. As that went so well I then tried your 1.7Ghz /720 kernel...
...noticed it wasn't actually going above 1.6Ghz, and so used ROM Toolbox Pro to fix that. It just seems to work for me. I also changed to govoner to interactive from on demand if memory serves. So nothing cleaver I'm afraid.

Is this application or firmware/hardware fault? - In my case default Camera app does not work properly with flash. Flash indeed flashes... but when the photo is actually taken the light from flash is long gone. Weird.

Did you try a different camera app?

Am Ende ist alles gut, und wenn nicht alles gut ist, dann ist es auch nicht das Ende...

Latest update, 1.7Ghz CPU + 720Mhz DDR kernel, PurePerformamces, CrossBreeder...

            AnTuTu = 21006

            Running without issues so far...

            Thank you again.

can you give us some pointers on what you did to make the 1.7 kernel work and also pureperformances.

have you tried the RR 2.1.1 with the tweaks and kernel you used?

When i was on 1.7, flashed pureperformances, my wifi constantly disconnects and needs a reboot to work properly but when i turn off wifi then turn on again it wouldn't connect and needs a reboot again.

In RR 2.0 and 2.1.1, I tried the 1.7 kernel but sadly I just get a bootloop.

              TIA.

Most of the kernels make my tablet loose the touchscreen response, seems not all M7's are the same?

I wish I could say that I'm doing something clever that I could share for others benefit, but I suspect I've just been lucky with my M7 - as you probably know when it comes to over clocking not all devices are 'born' equal. Still, just in case I'm accidentally doing something useful I'll go through exactly what I'm doing:
Starting with RileyROM 1.7a with CWM installed
                  -Grab 2.1.1 + pureperformances + cross breeder
-Transfer PP & CB to an external SD
-Open your RR 1.7a folder in your PC and copy the parameters file you intend to use with RR 2.1.1 from there to the equivalent folder in RR 2.1.1 and remove the number at the end of the file name if there is one.
                  Why?
I've been using the 6Gb parameter file which isn't available with 2.1.1, also the params files look slightly different to me and as I'm about to do something naughty I don't want any chance that my partitions could move about when I go from 1.7a to 2.1.1...
...I'm going to upgrade in such a way as to preserve my user data, and so not have to reinstall everything from backups.
-Boot the tablet in to CWM and take a nandroid backup of everythng on to a sufficiently large external SD!
-Turn off, attach the tablet to your PC, fire up the RR 2.1.1 flash tool...
-DO NOT use the wipe memory function
-Untick the recovery option, you wan't to keep your pre-existing CWM
-Choose the params file you copied from 1.7.a, if you haven't renamed it to work by default
                  -Change nothing else!
-Boot you M7 in to recovery mode and when the flash tool finds it go ahead and flash

                  -Wait for it-

Now that gave me the stock 2.1.1 RileyROM with all my old setting / apps / etc in place. If there is anything useful in what I'm doing, and not just blind luck, it will be in the following process.
In a nutshell I've been very careful to make only one change at a time, with a full boot in to Android and power-off between additions. And NOT make any additions over stock until AFTER the full stock install has been done. (Yes, I did keep the CWM from 1.7a)
-Turn off the M7, plug back in to the PC, Fire up the 2.1.1 RR flash tool and untick everything except kernel
-Edit the kernel entry for the included ddr720 kernel, flash, reboot the M7 in to Android
                  Did it take? Yes...
-Do the same again, but this time with the 1.7Ghz/ddr720 kernel
                  Did it take? Yes... good...

At this point when I went from RR 1.3 to 1.7a I had to use ROM Toolbox Pro to get the full 1.7Ghz, but when going from 1.7a to 2.1.1 I didn't need to fiddle with the CPU sliders, 1.7Ghz was there from the off. Regardless I use ROM Toolbox Pro to increase the SD cache from 128k to 4096k, and change to 'noop'. I also use the 'ondemand' CPU govoner.

                  Now for PurePerformances and CrossBreeder:
If anyone here is an old Amiga owner they will be all too familiar with the issues of installing multiple hacks, one over the other. PP seems a generally useful multi-hack that is supposed to do much of what CB does, among other things. My suspicion is CB does it's own thing better than PP so I've installed it over the top.
-Boot M7 in to CWM, go to your external SD and select PurePerformances
-Install, as before fully reboot in to Android and then switch off.
-Same process to install CrossBreeder over the top.

Installing these two does seem to stop the pre-installed flash from working. Happily the fix is easy enough:
                  -Uninstall Flash (via settings/apps)
-Go download a Jellybean-friendly Flash from the likes of XDA and install that.
                  -Done!
I suspect it's not the flash version but PP/CR breaking any pre-exisiting Flash install and installing Flash last sorts that.

                  Issues:
I've not really had many issues with loosing WiFi, but where I have a simple switch on/off via PowerWidgets has fixed that. As far as I can see 'my' M7 with these upgrades only has issues with specific routers, so for anyone with this problem maybe it's worth experimenting when round a friend's house to what what does(n't) work.

When using 1.7a I used the 1.7Ghz/720ddr kernel posted further up - all good. When I did the 1.7a - 2.1.1 upgrade I used the equivalent kernel supplied with 2.1.1. (I've not tried the _1200mv.img yet) I'd swear my tablet feels warmer than it did and am tempted to go back to the 1.7Ghz/720ddr kernel I used with 1.7a... Is there any difference, or is it all just my imagination?

It's all been pretty stable for me. I hope in all that rambling there's something in the above that will help others.

I'm on 1.7a and I haven't Hard problem at this ROM.

But I have set my brightness to 0% but It's not really very low... is it fixed in 2.1.1 ?
What about Buttery eat? on 1.7a buttery works around 5 hours approximately... is it fixed in 2.1.1 ?
and loading after turn-on the tablet takes around 70-80 sec...

                    Shall i upgrading to 2.1.1 ?

                    Thanks.

I have no expierence with CWM. Can anybody give me a short briefing how to install CWM on a Pipo M7 pro?

There is as well a stock version of the PurePerformances™X Mod

How can I use/install this on my RileyROM 2.1.1??

                      Sry for the newbie questions.

CWM is available in my ROM kit as an option.

If you are already using my ROM...it is easy to install.

Simply attach the tablet to PC via USB and run the flash tool. Reboot the tablet to flash mode. Uncheck everything from the list except recovery and misc.

Browse the recovery line and select cwmrecovery.img

                        Now...flash without erasing idb.

When you reboot you will have CWM.

The first time user guide stresses that you always should erase IDB. But now charlesmouse have installed his roms without doing this and therfore not having to install everything from backups. Why should you erase IDB everytime? Can you take a nandroid backup and try to install a new rileyrom without erasing IDB without any risk?

Its not really a problem installing everything from backups, but its a little frustrating having to re-do the layout on the homescreen every time

Erase idb ensures that issues with a previous ROM do not impact the new ROM. I use titanium backup to backup my apps and restore after flashing.

                              Pipo M7 Pro RileyROM 2.1.1

While I try to keep standard file sizes in my ROMs, lately, because of the content required to keep in the ROM to prevent breaking something. ..I have to grow the system a bit.

My parameter files are calculated to allow for the exact size of the system.img. Therefore, you need to erase IDB so NAND is clean for a fresh install with the new partition sizes.

If you don't erase IDB, you may be stuck with overlapping data, which can cause boot loops or other problems.

Since im already on 2.1.1 and 720 ddr kernel, I just flashed the 1.7 cpu kernel on top but sadly that still caused bootloop, so I flashed just the ddr kernel back.

Flashed pureperformancesX, rebooted, tried wifi, got the same issue as before then I flashed crossbreeder on top of it without uninstalling PP, tried wifi several times on/off, CB seem fixed the wifi problem.

antutu is frustrating cause its just about equal without the PP and CB, but increased smoothness while browsing through GUI, swipes and touches are a little bit more snappy and responsive.

Installed ROM Tool Box but Im just not too technical enough to understand things in there so I better not touch anything.

                                Thank you Charles!
