Here is my 750MHz RAM kernel and script, based on the 1.5 RileyRom.

    Un saludo.
750 is not a correct value for ram: it should be set at 12Mhz step, so the correct frequency should be 744 or 756.
    How about RAM voltage?
Keep in mind that rising the frequency without touching the voltage will increase power consumption and heat production a little bit.
I suggest you to set ram to 720 with 1.2V. Going over 720Mhz is completely useless in terms of performance gain.

"Unfortunately, Google Text-to-speech Engine has stopped"

OK, so I ate the data loss as described previously (had a 1-legged duck moment), but now I have another issue specific to RR v.1.5, several things all of a sudden started misbehaving with the install of RR v.1.5 and reinstall of apps.

I was in an bad accident several months ago, and my first tablet / Android device, and learning it was my recovery project after a surgery, and right when I was ready to depend on my tablet during travel it has put me in a bad situation.

It keeps giving an error Google Text to speech Engine has crashed, and also, 2 apps I need immediately became unusable, saying they are not responding, they are in the app store, HotPads and PadMapper.
I expect other things wil crash also, but this is just preliminary finding and reproduceable.

Both worked perfectly fine in v.1.3a, and if I cannot get them working, I will be forced to regress to v.1.3a.

ALSO, it occurred to me after getting these errors, possibly the issue with not being able to change the backup directory in Titanium Backup in the preferences may be related to the above mentioned error.
It refuses to let me specify any other directory for backup than what it decides, is that right?

Can anyone else verify HotPads and PadMapper (App called Trulia For Rent also does not work) do not work in their install of RR v.1.5? They use location services I think, and it may be related to that I am thinking.

I really need those 2 apps working ASAP, as my intent is to be on the road by end of week, and my desktop system goes down in a couple of days

Randy or someone whom knows, what is the most stable RR release?
I know v.1.3a seemed to work fine for me, and gosh should I have known better than to migrate when I did knowing I had a stable system.

I'll soon be unable to flash my tablet for an unknown period of time...

      TIA...
I am getting the message "Unfortunately, Google Text-to-speech Engine has stopped" quite frequently since flashing the RR 1.5. It is reproducible by going to settings/Language & input/Text-to-speech output. Clicking on "Text-to-speech output" button results in the app crashing and I get sent back to the main screen. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I am unable to execute the app to make changes in the settings because it crashes when trying to do that. Thanks in advance.....

Stock kernel meaning the one in the RR v.1.5 package, or another?

If another, where / how to source the stock kernel?

And thanks to all for the input and collaboration.

The kernel in my ROM is the stock kernel.

For the external SD card problem, try running check disk from Windows and see if there is any corruption. I format to NTFS to prevent corruption issues

I'm hoping that my implementation of adding updated files for Google Apps didn't cause the TTS problem. I will do some testing to see.

It's possible that an installed app or combination of apps may conflict with text to speech...especially since it isn't happening to everyone.

Thanks Randy...I look forward to your response before I start uninstalling apps.

Sorry guys to misinform you - I didn't check Google TTS because I use app IVONA Text-to-speech app (the best TTS mechanism!!!) which works fine on RR 1.5. Let me confirm that Google TTS crashes.

Hi Giouncino, thanks for your feedback.
I need to learn a lot more about the technology inside, I assumed I could just play around with the frequency...

The relation between power and voltage I can see, capacative load will increase power consumption.
How the 12MHz steps work?? I will try to read up on that.

I will test some more with the values you gave me.

                Thanks, un saludo,

                  Hi all,

First of all let me thank to the author of this great ROM. I put it today on my PIPO and it is noticeable great improvement on overall performance and speed.

                  Nevertheless, I encountered one problem.

Everything worked fine, but after few hours I noticed one problem. Battery indicator always shows the same battery percentage. I tried to hard reset the device, unplugging/plugging it to power supply but nothing helps. Battery indicator always shows 56% no matter if device is charged for hours, or left on battery itself.

Anyone else encountered this problem? Is there any solution or tip?

Keep up the good work and thanks a lot!

Flashed to RR v.1.4.2 and TTS, Padmapper and Hotpads work fine now, guessing the issue with the latter 2 may be related to location services possibly, although I have no idea.

ALSO my one-legged-duck is back, when I downloaded the v.1.4.2 it got corrupted and hosed my USB flash drive when I moved the v.1.4.2 zip to my flash drive from a borrowed computer, and it wiped out my latest backup after my original mishap, LOL, only me...

Anyway, keep up the good work RR, and your efforts are appreciated here MUCH, as my tablet was pretty useless until I found you.

Porthos, I downloaded and installed Ivona, but I can't set it up as the default speech engine because when I try to open Text-to-speech in settings it crashes and sends me back to the main menu. Can you or anyone suggest a work-around for this? Thanks much.

Installed Stock Pipo ROM all good. Went back to 1.5 and within few hours had to wake up table by Reset

I finally tested by going back to stock rom. No issues, all working and not having to press reset every few hours of standby. Tried 1.5 again and within 3 hours I had my first locking . This time around I did not install anything but Titanium Backup. I will go back as previously suggested by others to 1.4.2 and see what happen there. I'll post the results. Thank you all and specially Randy for all of the hard work.

In an effort to test whether my Google Apps updated has messed with TTS and caused lockups, I have done a complete redo of the 1.5 ROM.

v1.5.1 is available at this link:

                          Download

This version has the same features listed in post #1 except it does not have Google Apps updated. If anyone wants to test this for me and see if it works. I will flash this on my tablet and try it, too. I didn't experience any lockups on my tablet, though.

I finally was able to access TTS in setup and switched from PICO to Ivona. Seems to have cleared up my TTS problems. Will let you know more after testing further. Thanks RR etc.

jdv007 - apologize my late response. It's because time difference between our countries I'm glad to hear that finally you were able to launch Ivona TTS.

Hey Riley.. is it possible for u to do a version with Normal-mode still present to choose from? Ie both HD and Normal mode.

                                Cheers
