7) Added RKDevelopTool_v1.37 from firmware Wasser 1.2.4 pack (for loading kernels)
8) Added RKbatchTools (for loading image)

Hi,
i think i make a mess with this fw.
I flashed this fw using rkbatchtool (restore button).
The box gets stucked in bootanimation.
The board is rk3188_box_szy_x6.
Did i make something wrong?

I have the same problem but with a different device. EKB311B MT7601U wifi
I can only flash stock rom, any other rom works for the first time then it gets stuck at boot logo.

I do not verified this mod because I do not have this box at this moment. And wasn't any feedbacks about it yet.

How much time do you wait starting of firmware? Time firmware starting may be before 5-10 minutes. Was other older firmwares successfully started for RK3188_BOX_SZY_X6 V1_0 on your board?

Can you check original firmware http://pan.baidu.com/s/1dDIJjTf on your board?

Do you have on PCB board mark RK3188_BOX_SZY_X6 V1_0? If your board has other sign, firmwares for RK3188_BOX_SZY_X6 can not work.

any updates for this device ?
imho best option for now is NEOMODE CUSTOM ROM MK809III AP6210 Version 1.9a with 1080p kernel (kernel3.img) + xbmc Beyond 3.3 because then we have smooth 1080p playback.

Anyway with neomode firmware, stock remote control doesn't work same like power button lighting (it should be blue when is turned on but this works only on stock rom)

in stock build.prop i found this:

roca.ui.enable=false
roca.type.box=true
roca.systembar.hide=false
roca.power.button=false

Maybe someone know how to port stock rom functionality to other rom,
I would be grateful for every help.

Just to confirm all works ok, if somebody needs vpn, install tun.ko form google play and vpn support will be installed automatically, wasser firmwares (1.3GB Free Ram) for this board works as well except remote and lan(ethernet) with 720p_old and 1080p_old kernels but 1080p kernel version gets unit hot very fast - need extra cooler :-), thanks Frant - good work - 1.5GB Free Ram - so great

Does anyone have a step by step guide on how to install firmware on this device? My main question being does power need to be connected whilst using the OTG port to connect to the PC? I use the OTG port for powering the device and don't have a separate power adapter.

you can flash it with usb cable connected to OTG port without power adapter

first install rockchip drivers http://dl.radxa.com/rock/tools/windo...erAssitant.zip

then connect your device, push and hold reset + power button
and now its ready for flashing with RKBatchTool or RKDevelopTool

Thanks for the instructions! Frant's firmware has now been installed on my Android box.

It fixed one of my biggest problems which was BBC iPlayer - any time we paused it the video and audio would go out of sync and would keep freezing making it unwatchable.

But LAN still doesn't work and I noticed when you choose shut down the power button stays blue even though the box has shut down. The only way to turn it back on is by taking the power lead out and reconnecting it. But by pressing the power button it goes to sleep, so that's the option I use most.

Would there be any advantage of updating the kernel as I have version - 3.0.36+ (Nov 19 2013)?
I also have no idea how I would update it

Ok..maybe I spoke too soon. I'm now unable to access iPlayer as I keep getting the following error when clicking on a video to watch -
"This content doesn't seem to be working. Please check your network connectivity and try again later. (2004)"
I know iPlayer is working as it's working on my laptop now. It's also strange as it knows I'm connected to the UK, otherwise you get an error stating you need to be in the UK to access this service.

I use unlocator.com which changes the DNS - I also have tun.ko installed.
The only way around it is setting up a dedicated VPN to the UK which works, but means I have to subscribe to both Unlocator and a VPN service. Something I wanted to avoid.

So something has changed in Frant's firmware that prevents iPlayer working properly with unlocator.
Any ideas?
