@rrileypm
Hello Rriley, are you still working on the roms for Pipo M6 Max? At the moment there is no Rom that works fine.
Do you/or anybody else have a manual to return to stock rom?
The bigges issue with all your roms is that you have to reset your tablet via the pin at the back after a while to get it to work.

99 percent of my ROMs are made from official firmware releases for the specific tablet the firmware was made for...from the factory. Unfortunately, it appears that Pipo has stopped updating the M6 Max.
I'm guessing that Pipo has decided they have finished their work on this tablet...providing the most stable firmware possible.
While I tend to agree that there isn't much left to improve upon with Jellybean on the M6 Max, I kind of wish they would put out a KitKat version....but I doubt they will.
I have never compiled a kernel. I've been considering learning how...but believe me...it took me a long time to figure out how to customize ROM's, and I've been quite busy supporting the tablets I've done ROM's for. Other developers here on Freaktab have started work on compiling their own ROM's for mainly TV sticks. I'm hoping (and would highly encourage) someone to begin work on these Pipo tablets.
Pipo, so far, has made some pretty good products. But their 3066 tabs are getting long in the tooth, and deserve an update...and the early 3188's like the M6 Max, and the M8 Pro are definitely worth more effort. So, if Pipo won't provide further support, someone here should.Randy

Alternate ways to flash M6 Max
Hi Riley - I asked before about my pipo m6 max...
I was able to flash it before to version 1.8, but when I did it is now stuck in the riley rom boot loop.
I am having trouble getting my windows laptop to recognise the tablet when powered on and connected by usb. This continues now on windows 8.1 and also on OSX. I have tried wine on OSX but all to no avail. You suggested 1.5 and 1.6 for driver installs, and these and the 2.0 driver install appear to have been of no assistance, the laptop cannot see the tablet at all (no pink options or status indication of any time except no device found on the flash tools)
I can get the tablet to return to Android Recovery (little green android image) and appear to be able to flash anything from external car or internal card. Is there some way of getting this defunct 1.8 version to 2.0 without relying on the flash tools (i.e. va Andoid Recovery?)
I thought if I could flash, I would be able to apply some rom, but I'm just not sure what packaged rom I could use. I'd appreciate any help as it's been a dead duck for many months now. I read some of your posts relating to Nand resetting, but don't think they would help here, but not sure..
Updates- 31/01/2014
I tried 3* images in the root and of Reily's CWM template reilly and tried to restore as image (no luck) - It said invalid image. I tried updating rkimage and normal apparent zip files (2.0 versions) to see if it could recognise it. I tried the images on their own using the rkimage tool, but to no avail either...
I'm at a loss....
Please help Riley, my tab is dead now since new 1.8 version...
Thanks

Anyone know how to change the resolution after enabling normal mode...
I've enable the normal mode by editing the build.prob but resolution was too small and I can't seem to change the resolution by changing the LCD Density. Anyone know how to change the resolution after enabling the normal mode yet.....

Hi all,
Did you know if one the kernel from giouncino for Pipo M6 PRO (riley rom 1.8) from this thread http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post149790 will work on our Pipo M6 MAX (patched with riley rom 2.0)?
If not any idea where to find one of those kernels or to "adapt" them for pipo M6 MAX ?
Thanks

Vine, instagram and ingame videos
Hi,
Thank you for this rom. But i am not able to watch Instagram, Vine and spme ingame videos(Asphalt 8 menu background animations etc). In instagram and vine videos, there is a black screen and no problen in sound.
As far as i know this tablet supports mp4 and h264 videos, i installed some Arm 7 neon codes but nothing changed. And i remember(not sure) that stock rom has no problems with them.
Do you experience the same issue?
Btw as i see, the tablets lags comes from mostly syncing, checking updates and receiving push notifications. Also auto updates are killers. I've disabled sync, checking updates but browser related lags still annoying.
I will try overclocked kernel. Tried frontier's rom, that sees good for the beginning, but have the same video issue and also i will give a try to Riley's other roms i.e. 1.3.
Wish to see a new rom. I will send a -desperate- email to Pipo
Thanks again Riley
