OTA update
May I ask a dumb question. You said "This ROM is based on a Pipo OTA update firmware dated 12/27/13"
I have never had an OTA update ever. Did I miss something? I have the stock firmware now, but when I check on my tablet for an update, It says I am up to date. Again sorry for the dumb question.

Sometimes when a user reports a problem to Pipo Support, the service rep will send a link to an unreased firmware update that is supposed to fix the specific issue. While the update may not have actually been sent by an OTA...that's what Pipo calls it. Sorry for the confusion.
I haven't had luck successfully installing an OTA update from Pipo...and I disable the ability to receive OTA updates in my ROMs...because there is potential to cause some REAL problems by an unwanted update. It is just always better to flash a new custom ROM version.

Thanks my friend. So I think it is time to update with your ROM I suppose.

Normal mode with new kernel is very nice fluid experience, but in new ROM I like feature of hiding navbar.
So the question is, is it possible to switch video mode somehow?
Thanks guys.

I'm too using overcooked kernel and nova launcher but still I find it to be a bit laggy, not for games dough, but things like browsing, typing, switching active app, basicly UI expirience.
Yesterday I flashes 1.9 with kernel and after swichig to normal video mode I'm actually very happy.
May be next update they bring video switch back, I'll wait.

Text typing in a box
There seems to be an issue with typing in boxes. Whenever cursor is positioned in a box an once I start typing, the whole box is maximized on the screen, and I lose sight of the dialog box. Can this be fixed somehow? It seems to be a problem with swift key KB only. Its also quite laggy on this tab.

Hello Everyone
Hi all,
I own a PIPO M6 Max and am a newbie when it comes to installing these custom ROMs. I am interested in installing this version 2.0 but have not tried yet. The reason being is that before I try this out I want to know the difference in experience from the custom rom to this one.
I am not a heavy user of the tablet, I am not interested in any games on it at all. All I use it is for reading eBooks (cool reader) mostly, some comics (Perfect viewer), emails (Gmail) and general internet browsing (Chrome). What is getting on my nerves a little is that it works fine for a moment and when I lock it and leave it until needed agian I find that it has crashed even though I was not using it. So what I am looking is for a fast and STABLE experience and was wondering if these roms would help me achieve that?
Also as I was reading this thread I found there are also kernels, can someone give me a brief explanation of what they are exactly? And do they effect the WiFi signal strength? If possible I would like to have a strong WiFi signal since I sometimes (rarely) play some media files over the network (either VLC or MX Player) so a strong WiFi signal is also needed.
Thank you in advance.

I haven't tried the separate kernels but apparently they provide a bit more speed and a slightly longer battery life. I would suggest going to 2.0 (or 1.9) first. Make sure everything is working over several days and then, if you wish, experiment with the kernels.
And do the roms or kernels effect WiFi signal strength?

The modules are specific to the Ethernet device you have. Check with Leolas...he has provided modules for some things.
