If Pipo releases a KitKat firmware, I will make a ROM.

I don't know if the M6 is one that they plan to update to KitKat.

While I did successfully make a KitKat ROM for the U8, I'm finding that each release is changing. Myself, and the other developers here at Freaktab are learning how to deal with the changes. I hope that by the time we get more updates from Pipo, we will have a plan of how to best root and modify these new ROM's.

Surprisingly, it seems that the selection of display résolution (HD vs SD) has disappeared in this update.......

Unfortunately I am still experiencing a problem with libril-rk29-dataonly.so (betterbatterystats reports: wakelocksuspend3g) so have reverted to the older working version of libril-rk29-dataonly.so.

After reverting to the old libril-rk29-dataonly.so I am still experiencing the kernel wakelock: wakelocksuspend3g. Anyone else with the same problem?

You can try installing the ROM without any other app.
You can see that deep sleep is working.
after that you can try install one by one your app and see which is the one that prevent your tablet going in deep sleep.

or install greenify and with this app try hybernating ALL the running apps...

Thanks. Now I know it is not a common problem I'll investigate further.

                    CWM

Anyone able to compile a CWM version of this ROM. Those of us that have Windows 8.1 can't flash with the ROM flash tool.

There is a template zip in the ROM kit. You can make one yourself.

First one - my english is very bad.

I make archive using File Roller (Gnome archive manager), put into ROMInstall.zip boot.img, kernel.img and system.img. Then enter CWM, doing all wipe's and flash from internal storage, all is successful, but after restart my pipo doesn't start, Riley ROM logo, thats all. Can someone help me?

That's the problem with flashing a new ROM via CWM. Because file sizes between ROMs change...the parameters have to change. CWM can't change partition sizes. You need to find an older PC to flash from...its your only solution at this point...sorry.

                              issue with different speakers volume

Hello Riley ! Thanks a lot for firmware, installed it with kernel 4 , all works, all perfect except the speakers:
On stock firmware 08.14 it was a little bit difference (right speaker little bit louder), now difference is huge (right much more louder, left is almost quiet). It is the only thing that became worse

If you read the early threads on the M6 ROM's, you'll find that the speaker issue is due to a poor design.

Early users found by opening the case that one of the speakers was blocked. They solved the problem by modifying the internal parts a little...only to find out that Pipo adjusted the firmware to increase the volume of that speaker to compensate for their poor hardware design.

I don't have an M6 Max...so I can't remember exactly what modifications were done to fix this problem...so I would suggest going back and doing some reading of the earlier M6 threads.

That's one of the reasons that we NEVER delete ANYTHING from Freaktab...it is a great repository of information. I refer to it quite frequently, because I don't have a photographic memory.
