In the spirit of the Pure Nexus Project, these Nano and Stock Nexus ROMs prove that less can be more. The goal is to keep true to Google's vision and use the bare minimum of OEM or third-party apps or add-ons, which can be added à la carte by the user as needed. These ROMs also serve as a foundation for TVStock Nexus ROMs, which deliver the pure Android TV experience using the Open GApps TVStock Package.

Stock Nexus variant includes:

• Open GApps Nano Package
• Google Now Launcher (replaces OEM Launcher)
• Google Chrome Browser (replaces AOSP Browser)

Known Bugs:

• Clicking on Vision Settings in the setup wizard will launch an unsupported activity in Settings.
• You can enable the nav bar in Settings->Display->Statusbar, but may need to toggle back and forth before it will show.

• Nano Variant: BURN PACKAGE (930MB IMG file), OTA UPDATE (479MB ZIP file)
• Stock Variant: BURN PACKAGE (1.46GB IMG file), OTA UPDATE (824MB ZIP file)
• Flash burn package with Amlogic USB Burning Tool v2.0.8 or BootcardMaker v2.0.0.2

Notes:

• The underlying OEM firmware for this build is pre-rooted, so this is too.
• The updater is signed, and so can be installed in the Update app, the stock recovery, or TWRP. It's designed for incremental updates, since user data is preserved. If you're installing for the first time, you should include a data wipe.
• The safest bet is always to install the full Amlogic burn package with USB Burning Tool.
• Flash ROMs at your own risk and always remember to back up your data first. The burn package includes a factory reset.

I had started to make myself a custom rooted rom but could not get past the repacking issue for 7.1 so have been waiting for yourself or SC to work you magic on this box!!

Yea that's the one. Stock is terrible. Can't replace the home launcher and standby/suspend doesn't seem to work properly as completely restarts again on switch on.

The Stock variant includes more stuff, and is more typical of the apps that would be preinstalled for a Google Nexus phone or tablet. The Nano variant is just what I use as a foundation for the TVStock (Android TV) variant, and it's really just the bare essentials.

If you're on the OEM firmware, use the Update app (selecting option to wipe data). If you've already installed from the Amlogic burn package, type "reboot recovery" in Terminal and install in TWRP.

Did the OTA update but did not wipe data first, box is now bricked with only red light on box and black screen on TV. How can I get it back?

If you power up with the reset button (pinhole on bottom) pressed, it will take you to TWRP Recovery. From there, you can do a data wipe. Alternatively, you can do a fresh flash from the burn package (.img file) using USB Burning Tool.
