As i understand the nexus roms will not updated by magendaz anymore but on the other hand, the AIOs, will have some updates by him. Is that correct?

#76.1Guest commented19 September 2017, 09:36Editing a commentYes, and because of the Ethernet differences in the M8S Pro device tree, there will still be a separate build for this device. Like the Nexus GT1, however, it will be based on the AIO ROMs from Shiningworth instead of the OEM ROMs from VideoStrong.

Sup everyone! I've bought this piece of hardware about a week ago and still have a very dissapointing experience with it. Stock ROM is a standard chinese shit. Enter on physical keyboard is recognized as "q" key duplicate, launcher is terrible, stability issues in basic apps. Unusable. Last TVStock ROM by sir Magendanz is very holistic and smooth but for some reason I can't use Chromecast at all. Tried different apps with different devices, no luck. Tvbox appears in device list but that's all, when I hit the cast button nothing happens. Same situation with the last Nano ROM (08/25) but in addition this one's apps aren't adapted for tv screen, for example there's no way to manage with youtube with only arrow keys. I've heard that Beelink G1 has the same hardware inside. Could Magendanz's roms for this device be used with M8S PRO? Can I try it without my my tvbox being bricked? Maybe another OEM base and android base would make some difference with Chromecast and other bugs? Another question is are there some kernel sources for our devices? Tried to google but cand find any, maybe I'm just not chinese enough. Aaaand the last question. Magendanz, do you have paypal or something similar for donations? You're doing great, I wanna buy you a beer man!
ups: oh, I see donate link now, it's in OPLast edited by droserasprout; 21 September 2017, 11:34.

Unfortunately, the Google Cast receiver doesn't really work on any ROM yet other than the Xiaomi Mi Box, NVIDIA Shield TV, Nexus Player and ADT-1. Just today superceleron and I were brainstorming on this, since we thought it was a Widevine L1 issue, but it doesn't work on the M8S Pro+ either.
As for beer money, I appreciate any support you're willing to offer. My PayPal link is at the bottom of the release notes in the original post.

Even on the official Android TV boxes, the Googlecast/Chromecast software implementation is no where near as good as buying actual Google Chromecasting hardware. I suspect Casting Apps simply are not tested on various Android TV media player products compared to how that are on Google Chromecasting Hardware.

Yesterday i received the m8s pro 3 gb ddr4/32 gb.
Good box for the money. I flashed the nexus nano rom. Compared to other two android boxes i have (yoka kb2 & alfawise s92), i can say that, 1st. the colours of m8s are blurry and 2nd. I use a mele f10 lite airmouse and i often loose the pointer of it and have to press the mouse button all the time in order to work again. Any idea what happen with these two problems?
Where i can find the latest stock rom that comes with the m8s pro (not the atv version)?

Oh, yeah? Will be something good in this rom that worth to upgrade? And if we do it , we must setup again or is going to be OTA?
Anyway, thank you very much for your job.

I believe that this update is not for us that we have m8s pro and not L. Is that true? Will we have another update? Thank you.

good morning Magendanz, I want to ask you a question I have installed in my ms8 pro of 3 / 32gb rom Nano Nexus, the update ota (ZIP file 463MB) that is available item # 87, works with rom nano nexu

If I understand the question correctly, then yes. You can install either of the OTA updates in post #87 above over previous releases of the Nano variant. Just go into TWRP, select Install, select your source (SD card, etc), pick the update .zip file and swipe to flash it. A data wipe (factory reset) is also recommended, but you might be able get away without it for incremental updates.
