I have recently bought two mecool m8s pro from gearbest and i had all those problems. After a tough week with speaking with gearbest and installing the firmware they told me 20170707.094011.V0321 it seemed that the problem solved. But after two days it couldn't load and i did a factory reset and i decided to send them back and get the refund. The problem was with the expensive travel. 40 euros for the box which costs 69. Until i found your rom. I installed it successfully thank god even i haven't believed that i could and i will test it for a few days to see how it goes. Thank you very much. Greetings from Greece

I need your help. As i told you i installed your rom and i have some problems. First of all i had changed my firmware to the m8s pro after contacting with gearbest to 20170707.094011.V0321 via zip file with usb.When i first opened run V.0221. Then i download your file "updated M8Spro V0321 Nano 20170807. Zip and i installed it through usb. It run well although sometimes lost the wifi for seconds and today i installed my apk and suddenly crushed. No reboot nothing. I did wipe data and i make it all over from the beginning. Now i noticed that there are no apk from the m8s pro from factory such as air pin pro or you tube although the first time i installed your rom there were all. I don't care about apks i lost i just wanted to help me to fix it in the right way. I did all the steps with usb because i don't have any laptop or pc. Please help me to set it in the right way because i have one more m8s pro in the box which i have to fix it also. Help!!!!!Comment

As I wrote in the original post, a data wipe is recommended the first time you install my custom ROM over the OEM firmware. This happens automatically if you install the .img file via USB Burning Tool, but you have to explicitly check the box to do that if using the Updater app with the .zip file. So, when you originally had a mix of OEM apps and Google apps, that was not a desired configuration. Doing a factory reset from Settings will set everything right (or you can enter TWRP recovery and do it there too).Comment

Thanks for your quick reply. When it crushed with your rom or maybe with my mix of roms as you said i did i opened twrp and in the wipe i did swipe to factory reset. Then it stucked again for a while until to synchronize with my gmail but now it boots ok. So after all my mistakes you think now its ok to start loading my apps? Now i checked in settings that the box runs M8S PRO-userdebug 7.1.1. NMF 26Q 20170524.163713.V0321.
In the second box which steps should i do for the right way with no mistakes. Thanks for all my friendComment

I am gonna definitely need your help. Yesterday it freezed several times and when finally booted successfully the Wi-Fi was very slow. The internet connection was ok because i tested it with my smartphone. Can you give me a solution? ThanksComment

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This will likely be the last Nexus custom ROM update based on the Mecool M8S Pro OEM firmware. There's a new generic ROM from the factory that we'll be using to target all devices based on Amlogic q201 reference board.
Here are the advantages:- Newer Android Nougat 7.1.2 (NHG47L build)
- Works with a long list of wireless chipsets, based on both the Qualcomm (Longsys) and Broadcom (AMPAK) driver architectures. To my knowledge, this is the first ROM that works on both.
- Supports several IR remotes (including OEM from Beelink and Mecool...even when pressing the Power button to cold boot).
- IR remove codes are NOT stored in the device tree, so they're once again easily customizable in the remote.conf.
- An excellent selection of video and audio settings at top level, including overscan, HDR, CEC, Dolby, and DTS.
- Configurable power button, plus press-and-hold pop-up menu with Power Off and Shutdown.
The disadvantage:- There's a bug with Bluetooth audio playback, which makes speakers and headsets basically unusable, but I've been assured that this is already fixed in the next release.

Today i installed tv stock rom with usb burning tool. I think i prefer nano version. Although i had some problems such as it lose wifi during google setup and then i couldn't pair my bluetooth mouse. The most important was that i couldn't type to find an apk in the play store. When i pressed the button to search it won't let me to write anything only the choice for speaking. I dont know if i did something wrong. And when i turned it off i couldn't reboot it and either open twrp. It freezed nexus on the screen. Nevertheless now i learned how to use usb burning tool i will try the other versions. Thanks for your interesting. I will try also the firmware for Acemax U2+ TV Box and i will tell you the results. I was thinking to test also the new update from beeling gt1 ultimate...Comment

I had a similar problem with the first time i tried to use the NANO version. I simply re flash it and tried again and it went through fine second time around. Now I use it on my main Media player all the time togethee with the TV launcher from Awesome Dev.Originally posted by john_zois View Post

Because i had bought a beelink gt1 for my father but because we live in different cities i worked only for a day and now he has some problems with his bluetooth mouse he couldn't pair it so i must do something with the beelink also later.Comment

If you didn't pick this up from earlier comments, I picked up a couple of bugs when I grabbed newer versions of Google Search (Katniss) and the Android TV Package Installer (CanvasPackageInstaller) from the latest factory ROMs posted for the Nexus Player. I've since reverted to the previous versions, and it seems to have fixed the issues.
Since I was a bit time constrained, there was no official updated release. If you use the old links, you'll pick up the changes.Comment
