I thought you had to plug the android box directly to PC with USB cable to use this tool? Are there instructions somewhere how to make a bootable USB and using it to replace the FW on the box? On plugging in the USB stick into PC whilst running the Tool, no device is connected and start button doesn't seem to do anything

For an SD card install, you'll need Amlogic's BootcardMaker, which is also linked from the original post. I don't think it works with a USB flash drive, though.

Personally, I find the USB Burning Tool much more reliable, if you can find a male-to-male Type A USB cable.

You're not the only one experiencing stability issues with time. I don't make low-level changes that would affect that in my custom ROMs, so we just need to wait for an updated OEM firmware.

There's really nothing to do. The one I created for the GT1 based on the TX8 Max will work identically on the M8S Pro. I'm really just waiting for the final OEM firmware release (with the Bluetooth audio fix).

No I don't think so. The change log refers to the OEM firmware (the last update).

The rest of the post is about the new PRECIOUS rom that replace the OEM updates in future.

Everything is alright in TV ROM. But when I try to flash last nano ROM, I got error 7. What am I doing wrong?

You seem to have wiped the previous system partition, so it's got no build.prop to check its environment. You'll need to use the burn package (.img file) and Amlogic USB Burning Tool now.

Hi there, and thank you Magendanz for these ROMs.
I have received my m8s recently and installed the last Stock Variant directly. But I never managed to connect to any bluetooth "remote control" app despite trying a dozen... The tv box is quite unpracticable without a keyboard.
I didn't try on the OEM ROM. I don't have any physical bluetooth keyboard to try either.
Does anybody experience the same issue? Any hints? Any working android app? Can it be linked to the Rom?

Probably not. The M8S Pro .img files are very particular about which devices they'll support. You'll have better luck with the new Shiningworth generic S912 firmware that I used as the foundation for these GT1 custom ROMs: http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...ms-android-7-1

the ethernet on m8s pro was not supported in all in one rom.. while it is supported on h96 pro plus..

I tried the TV Stock New Rom which I downloaded on 08/27 and could never get Google setup because of wifi dropping issues and couldn't get any further than that. Then I tried the Stock firmware and was able to do everything I wanted. Has anything changed since that date to fix the wifi issue on TV Stock? I would like to try it again if it has changed. Thanks for the work you have done on this. I like this load very much.

No changes since then, I'm afraid. I'm waiting for the final (non-beta) release of the OEM firmware. I've got fixes for the Bluetooth audio and Ethernet, but the WiFi signal strength is a more involved fix. I'm hoping they will have addressed it in the final release.

I ordered the Mecool M8S PRO Amlogic S912 3GB DDR4 RAM 32GB.
What do you suggest to do when i receive it? Stay on stock rom or flash another? Are there a lot of bugs in stock rom? In my mind is nano "all in one" cause Magendaz said good words for them and i dont need ethernet to be worked. On the other hand i need bluetooth to connect BT joystick. I hope there is no bluetooth problem with nano AIO rom.

I'll have an update for M8S Pro soon based on the All-in-One ROM with that tweak in the device tree to re-enable Ethernet.

AIO roms are rooted?

The current all-in-one ROM is, but I just got a new drop and it isn't rooted. I actually prefer that, since it leaves the decision up to the user and it's pretty easy to install SuperSU or Magisk with TWRP recovery already part of the ROM.
