    Hi wasser

I think I may be doing this wrong. Can you confirm the correct method to flash the new kernel?

    Thanks for your help.

Using Allwinner kit Kat for UT1. Works well but loses Ethernet Mac address on reboot.

          Thanks.

          How's your video playback? Smooth?

          Does wifi work ok?

Playback is good. Would be much better if the cifs mount issue is fixed. WiFi works very well.

              Thanks.

Just to confirm: you are using this -http://allminipc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1177

Is that right? I might try it again, but for me the screen scale reset on every boot, which was rather annoying...

Yes this is the one. I installed CWM for KitKat and flashed the kernel they posted on the second page.
I have not messed with screen scaling as my TV works fine as is.
Ethernet and CIFS problem is a real pain in the arse though!

                  Cool...

How did you install CWM? And did you install the kernel via CWM?

                  (Sorry about all the questions!)

I found a kit Kat version and used the terminal install method described in the RK3188 forum on here. And yes, I successfully flashed the kernel.

it works with the mount scripts. create a mount scripts and put it to /etc/init.d/

                      cifs manager doesn't work atm

it's very easy to flash the kernel.

you have to install terminal app from google market then launch it. copy the new kernel to /sdcard/
                        type following commands in terminal

                        su -
                        flash_image kernel /sdcard/kernel.img
                        reboot

                        it's all what you need

OK thanks - I did that. Seems to have worked...
Is this the correct version of the new kernel?
