Today I can have 1.42GHz (1.2Ghz stock crap T RK3188 model on GK525) with the kernel_cpu1800h_gpu798h_ddr720 kernel and rom from here http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...6210-wifi-BETA
or with this rom http://www.arctablet.com/blog/forum/...from-20131225/ and kernel_cpu1800h_gpu798h_ddr720

Oh, I understand it's the most palatable way to handle it, and that's why GB offered it instead of the full refund, but it's still just damage control instead of fixing the situation. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I used stock one, so it was 1.4GHz only but 1080p. I overclocked it with rkpatchomatic (phjanderson). Overclock to 1.6GHz is working, to 1.7GHz and upper not.

EDITED: here is the link http://uloz.to/xGQGmeW4/kernel-cpu16...ock-ddr667-zip
I am interested in results :-) I can upload original as well.

Thanks I will check this kernel. Maybe I have luck.
Anyway we hopefully find the trick how the rk3188T is locked down.

This is getting quite confusing and whats going on is nuts.

If i hadn't looked i say mine wasn't a T but it is and it over clocks with sam321 kernels fantastically with little to no heat increase.

Yet on neomode 1.9a it would be 1.2ghz and 1.4ghz so something different with sam321 kernels which avoid the lock.

But that doesn't seem to be the only thing needed her with some roms working fine with the kernels and others not on the t cpu.

They're the ones that failed the quality tests, right? Stands to reason they'll have more issues than they were officially sold to have.

It would seem but mines a model T cpu and it has none of those problems and overclocks great.

It feels more like they just labeling batches with out and major testing and people are getting the luck of the draw.
Some get ones that don't overclock and others get luck and et ones that work beyond what the none t were advertised to do.

Yes i think that all is a Quality thing.
                    RK3188 T means not aut. no OC, but a T is not a 3188 without a T
On my T i can run without any Problems up to > 1.8GHz but with 1.9GHz the Stick dont start, i think because its a T.
SAM made the Kernels for sure not just for fun, so normaly the Stick must start with the 1.9GHz Kernel.
But iam happy now with Neo 1.7 and SAM Kernel @ 1.8GHz

Seems likely and maybe the only thing that explains everything that's happening.

Proably due to the demand they are forgoing normal checks and just limiting whole batches to 1.4ghz max.

This doesn't mean your getting junk just a more speed limited cpu and the device could function great at this level.
The otherside though is since there are always some that perform better due to being closer to the center of the platter during making and can out perform whats expected.

So you can get one that can only do 1.4 and others that can overclock to the limit of the kernels.

In my case even though its a T version it seems i got a good one.

All test at 1.9 later today but i expect its going to have no issues running at that.

What a crap shoot this is turning out to be for buyers.

Many thanks, TVDroid! I'm happy too!!

I can confirm that the 'combo' of ROM Neo 1.7 and Kernel SAM 1080p 1.8GHz CPU 1400MHz RAM run well on my RK3188-T device!

                        The history.
After initial frustration, having discovered that my stick was running at no more 1.42GHz with Neo 1.9a (very well, indeed) and having found that it mounts a RK3188-T chip, I decided to give a chance to the suggestion by TVDroid.
I must report that soon after I installed the 'combo', system was booting with fickering screen at 1280x720 res.
By 'strobo-acting' () during the moments between flickers, when the screen was on, I eventually managed to go through settings and switch the resolution to 1920x1080. Flickers did not cease at this point, however I noticed that they started to occurr less frequently, depending on the position of the stick on my table. Then I decided to get the rid of the short HDMI cable that came with the stick and that was connecting the device to my monitor, and plugged the stick directly to it... Woah! Flickers were gone! The system continued to stay stable and I started to enjoy 1.8GHz on my RK3188-T.
The cpu remains at a fair temperature (I guess about 40C) during normal use, and I felt it warmer (but never what I would say hot) during playing a mkv full hd video. Sometimes, very rarely, I can still observe the occurrence of a single flicker but, in conclusion, I'm brought to say: stay away from HDMI prolonging cables and pay attention to possible enviromental interferences from power suppliers, wifi mouses and keyboards, smartphones, tablets, etc. since our sticks appear to be very sensible to such factors!

Excuse me for the very long message (and for my English), but I've thought that reporting all this could be useful to people dealing with the same devices of mine.

                        Cheers.

Do you think it is possible to have a version of your 1.9a (I loved it) to flash with sam kernels?
