    Welcome in T Club

    Hey Folks,

I have the too the limited "T" CPU and i was always wondering why and how it can be that it was advertisted as 1,6GhZ to 1,8 GhZ and in fact i always had only 1,4GhZ...

    Now i know...

    Rockchip
The Device is MK908 V5 bought in September to October from in4Dealz.

I now uploading a Video how to get into Maskmod easyway with explantation, descussions welcome.

    @Bob

    Dear Bob,

i can imagine that you are very buisy but i try to catch you here in hope you can help me/us Russians Android Tv ethusiasts.

I found here a MK808/Minix5 FW which have built in udpxy listening on local netowrk, its genious, our russian ppl fighting their routers, flashing other FWs on the routers...some briking...some wont run the udpxy...it is a great problem.
So the udpxy runing directly on the Device would be a Revolution!
Could you please look into this rom and make it working or better, Integrate it in all your further Roms and point me please how to integrate it, so i can integrate it in my running rom without disturbing you again.
And a litle Wish is it Possible to integrate a Hardware Ethernet support? Some apps don't recognise that the Device is connected via LAN/eth0?

    Thanx Bob!
I think the half World would apreciate it.

Agree! sellers need to suffer the risk of the business.

          First Post Blues

Hey guys, I hate that my first post in this GREAT forum has to be in a thread like this one... LOL... anyways, am i understanding this issue correctly? The 3188 T is locked through hardware and is impossible to overclock? or is it that none of the custom kernels have been made to properly control this cpu yet? I received a mk809 III as a gift for christmas... Only after i had modified (cut) the case to fit a fan and heatsink did i discover the issue with overclocking which lead me to this thread. I am attaching pictures since i do not know what seller it was purchased from since it was a gift. Thanks guys, and thanks to everybody in this community for the wealth of information as well

I have this, which is still being very falsely advertised. Says stock is 1.6ghz and a max of 1.8 when it will NOT go above 1.4ghz ever.

I'm not sending it back to China, but I am not buying from geekbuying any longer unless they fix this.

I know it is frustration, but I think the Seller not know wich CPU is in the Device.
Only the Manufacture will know it, why they use this CPU ? Because it is cheaper the a Normal one.

I've finally bitten the bullet and got a Minix coming through Amazon.com. Should be happy with that, I think. After I spent what I have on the 2 sticks that have been pretty horrible honestly, I could have just gotten the Minix to begin with. Oh well.

I don't believe that the reseller being ignorant of the product they have chosen to to resell is an excuse. If they are a professional reseller... they should test each product they choose to sell first before posting specs and in some cases... false information about a product. If a product they chose to resell is change on them later by the manufacturer and then they learn of it later... they should change their own description that they use to resell the device with as soon as they know about the changes.

In this specific case with Geekbuying as the example ( and I suspect other companies have also learned of the issue )... we know they became aware of the issue once they posted here in this thread. It was at that time ( or when they first learned of it ) that they should have retested their product lines to help ensure they are advertising the products they resell accuratelly.

I should thank Neomode and all of the others that have posted about the issue... I am or at least was in the process of looking into carrying these devices for my own clients on a local level. I do purchase test units of the products I carry before I decide to resell them... Reselling a product with either CPU in it would be fine with me as long as I was aware of it when I purchased them... The issue isn't as much as one being good or bad... it is more about honestly listing the specifications so the buyer can make an informed and accurate decision based on that info.

                    3188t Rom testing

I HAVE that 3188t version chip on my MK809IV device.

I have test all roms and kernels in order to make my device run properly here are results.
I think neomode can use this test to make great rom for as who have this chip. Because he said that he will make separate roms for 3188 and 3188t

-stock OK video playback problems antutu 17142

-neomode 1.9 GREAT with original kernel little lug on launcher video playback great spmc 720p works

But for my stick BLUETIMES ROM http://www.sendspace.com/pro/dl/7bzbci that saschah posted in neomode 1.9 thread is MONSTER MONSTER MONSTER works like MONSTER
fast ok FAST AND FURIOUS antutu 18103, 1080p, video playback best for now device is flying and it's cold no heat
PROBLEMS WIFI and BT not working and shutdown button just turn off screen
If neomode can make Frankenstein of his 1.9 rom and this rom that will be Great.
I don't know nothing about this rom and kernel but I think it's best for 3188t with some neomodes tweaks.

                    my device MK809IV rk3188t wifi ap6210 1319
maybe this will help someone like me who have 3188t

P.S I DON'T HAVE FLICKERING PROBLEMS WITH ANY ROM OR KERNEL I TESTED. On three different tv's and two pc monitors.

                      Thank you

Ivan that was an extremely helpful post, I have been trying different combinations of kernel and rom myself and have not come close to the performance you mentioned.... Hopefully Neo or somebody will be able to use that research to make a new rom like you said. Thanks again for searching for a solution / temporary fix

Hallo, sorry, have someone a kernel for linux that works with mk802IV with rk3188t? Thanks!!!

The real problem here is lack of knowledge.

We know the cpu not hard locked since it freq ranges from 300mhz to 1.4 ghz with stock roms.
The questions is it capable of overclocking and whats missing from most non stock roms that lets it clock down properly.

Is this a cut down version of the cpu or is it just a improved branch of the cpu that hasn't gotten decent support yet.

Its not like we have seen slow support from rockchip and a near lack of info coming from them.

I believe the answers we are going to find are likely in the stock roms since they should tell us the reason they can freg range when the other roms here can not.

WIFI and BT are not working as ivanrandjelovic reported. Hopefully, Neomode or anyone will be able to create a working 1.6 Ghz ROM for RK3188T. Until then, RK3188T is a no-no for me.

The sellers are buying direct from manufacturers and will change the specification if it saves them or makes a bundle of money, With this chip it is a "second" or not a grade "A" chip so is throttled and sold off at a much lower price. It is companies like Geekbuying/Tronsmart who buy direct from the manufacturer who will be offered these components at a bargain price.

It appears that Geekbuying are doing some serious damage limitation over these substandard chips with good price reductions on all products carrying the RK3188T but they still advertise them as RK3188T Quad Core 1.6GHz (Cortex-A9).

I got what your mean and have confirmed with the factory, the CPU is really 1.6 , only the item run some powerful apps like games, the CUP will reach 1.6 under over locking .As usual if the apps are not powerful , it is 1.4,as we know if the item runs under overlocking . it is not good to the item, so the factory has adjusted it , hope you can understand what we say,.Sorry for my poor explain in the last email and can't be got understanding .

                                WTF?
They basically told you to F**k off. They say the chip will reach 1.6 but this only happens with very powerful aps like games and will damage it so the factory have throttled it back to 1.4 max.
