We should search in the imgs for new files or hidden files.

I think this is going to be it. I have seen this before. Hidden files that if you change some things in build.prop it wont boot! I have even seen framework.jar code do this!

When I get my stick trust I will DIVE DEEP into this BS....

          Hey Bob,

I received a "CX919 II" this morning. The CPU frequency is restricted to 1416MHz and the signal from the HDMI is frequenctly dropping at 1080p. This is the stock build; it defaults to 1920x1080 and 'flickered' right out of the box. My money is on whacky HDMI timings.

Let me know if you want me to post android and/or kernel build strings, dump a system img or crack the thing open to take pics. I bought it with the intention of installing Debian and using it as a server, so display problems aren't a biggy, but if I can offer any useful info, do ask. I received a power adapter with a flaky USB jack so I'm not going to risk flashing anything until I have bought a safe power supply!

I'd like to note that there are at least two different problems with new minipcs.
            1) Not overclocking or overclocking with some hacks (probably all minipcs). Even if overclocking works (as on my mk902 to 1.6ghz) the problem with blinking is usually not resolved.

            2) Blinking - from which suffers only some minipcs and depends on mutual combination of minipc HW, kernel and monitor (after trying on more than 10 monitors we vere able to find monitor without blinking on two otherwise heavy blinking mk902). If there is blinking for some people may help just putting tv stick directly in tv hdmi port. For others may help playing with frequencies and so on. And the most heavier cases blink always except new stock roms (I posted one kernel from stock from cr11s and all the people so far confirmed that blinking is gone). If stock rom is blinkig than it is either witchout patches or the minipc is out of hw tolerancy at all.
So that in my opinion in these stock kernels must be some new patches or changes in configuration. Some change in linux kernel sources, used by manufacters to produce their stock kernels, and not known publickly in community. My guess.

Regarding lack of access to higher CPU clock frequencies, see this commit: https://github.com/linux-rockchip/rockchip-3.0/commit/66664e64963f1e0b6a888397beb1d2baffcb29d8

So, it is not really a problem per se, but rather an intended limitation. The problem is we're being sold lower-grade parts (i.e. RK3188 parts that have failed QC and been binned as the RK3188T) without being informed. I would not expect that most RK3188Ts will just as reliable at 1.8GHz as the RK3188 can be; fashing an alternative kernel does not make inferior hardware better. Notice also how some software will still report 1.6GHz max. The SoC still presents as a normal 1.6GHz part in userland, but the kernel knows otherwise.

Rockchip are either a) incompetent b) devious or c) both.

... or they have other plans, we don't know.

Yes! I think that this your finding represents both the final proof that the market is screwing the buyers and also the murder weapon for all the kernels that fail to overclock RK3188T devices.

In fact, given what Gianca90 reported here:

Originally posted by Gianca90 View Post

IMHO I think that the problem is related to the compatibility between Loader 2.07 and overclocked kernel? or sam overclocked kernel???

With the crom 2.1, or finless 1.6b or Hybrid rom 1.7, wich uses LOADER 1.24 (or 1.20), the overclocked kernel works with any frequencies you want! But there is the flickering distorting problem (and the screen disappear and re-appear with the hdmi cable ), so you have to connect the stick direct to the hdmi port.
                  ...
I'm brought to suppose that there can be two type of kernels out there: one, older, compiled before the introduction of the clock limiting patch (maybe when they were still thinking what to do with crap cpus..) and which came out with 1.2x loaders and the other, newer, which is compiled with the patch and came out with 2.x loader.

I could be wrong but i think the 1.7 has a loader issue which causes a download fail for some people when trying to flash.

                      Here:http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post139253 I wrote about nice pare Finless 1.6b CX 919 with SAM 1080p Kernel - CPU @ 1.8GHz, RAM @ 1.2GHz on my RK3188-T

                      Antutu was higer then 19000

                      Today I tryed to install Neo1,7 + same kernel (SAM 1080p Kernel - CPU @ 1.8GHz, RAM @ 1.2GHz)
Antutu crashed stik on 30% of runing test. Strange.

I installed Finless 1.6b CX 919 with SAM 1080p Kernel - CPU @ 1.8GHz, RAM @ 1.2GHz back. Same result. Antutu reboot stik on about 30% on a runing test.

                      Very Strange.
                      I were go back to Neo1,7 + SAM 1080p Kernel - CPU @ 1.8GHz, RAM @ 1.2GHz
                      But no -
reboot stik on about 30% on a runing Antut test.
Then I run movies about 2 hours, all was smooth without any issues
So it seems that is all good, but only Antutu problem now.

I had same happen. I used CPU Master to cut max clock to 1.7Ghz, Antutu completed, 19094.
I took the case off, there was a hot spot on the not very efficient stock heat sink. I let it cool and set the clock back to 1800Mhz. With the case off, Antutu completed with a score of 19842. I placed a fan so it is blowing on the heat sink. Antutu scored 19937.

I agree I pointed to these four commits about 3188T in post #102. I think they don't want to have problems with warranties or stability on sticks with bad cooling and maybe with worse quality of the 3188t chips as well. So they prevents this situation with limit of max freq. I still suspect creators of stock roms (producers) that they have new patches from rockchip not publicly known.
I am currios when was the last time when rikomagic or somebody else publiced the fresh source codes. Or do producers public their source codes reguraly commit by commit?

Clearly states 3188 chipset . IF shipped with 3188 its clearly being faulsly advertised and re sellers in China can address but
But only once they are made aware of it. Geekbuying has told them to market as 3188T other reputable suppliers will follow same path.
