KK update and Recovery! I would have already flashed if I hadn't a huge number of data/settings to backup. I will come back to that in the v2 thread.

I was wondering if I can change the still image during boot (not the animation part, but the similarly looking riley image that appears for one sec before the animation). I think it would be nice if I could have an "owner's text" or something like that before your cool animation! Is this something that I could easily do myself?

I am on 1.8 currently.

The only user changeable boot screen is the boot animation.

The first screen is embedded in the kernel.

The second screen is embedded in boot.img.

The boot animation is located in system/media.
