I'm referring to the nxoo7HD8HD tablet, not the nx008HD I got rid of my nx8 and got the nx7 because my first was simple to root using the thread from freaktab,but I was curios about it being built on 6/13 will the root work again,before even try it,,,,,hope it will work again,,fingers are crossed:-)

does this work with the nextbook NX007HD8G it was bought in jan 2014 newegg. 7 inch android version 4.1.1 kernal 3.0.8 build JRC003c.V008 ? will CWM work is this touch CWM?> thanks for the work...

I haven't built CWM for the Next7HD8G yet, but it's high on my todo list.

Right now I'm working with the CWM version from CM10.

I doubt that CWM Touch will ever work well, because the touch precision isn't very high. I've experimented with TWRP, but the touch control was so slow and lagging that I won't release it, because it it was so bad that I don't want to support it.

The kyser_root package should work on any device that uses the UBIFS file system for the system partition, however, it requires a recovery that can flash packages signed with google keys. Nextbooks use private signature keys in the stock recovery, so you need either a modified or custom recovery to flash anything.

If a modified or custom recovery isn't available for your model, try the Cydia Impactor root method. It is reported to work on all current Nextbook models.

But your root will work on it right?I just downloaded kyser,and mod recov.from the thread I'm going to try in put both on my SD and fruit OK?

Yes, the files from here should work:

Note that you do not need to flash the ROM if you only want Root, just flash the kyser_root.

The ROM is a plain stock ROM. You shouldn't need it, unless you mess up your system partition by making changes after you root.

See my PM. Install the recovery on your external SD card. Then boot to recovery (it will automatically use the custom one found on your external SD card) and install just the kyser_root.

Don't forget to download your choice of program like superuser or supersu from the play store to control which apps are allowed to use root.

You should be fine. It was all tested on my own Next7HD8G. Should be more to come soon.

Damn its not rooting fully,my little droid falls,such says legacy but root is blank doesn't say no but doesn't say yes ,,,I wonder if I install the hole ROM on your thread and then try again watch a think?I tried clean system and also without cleaning system,sooooclosee!!

Did you get root to work yet?

If not, I wonder, what are you doing to check root? I don't know what you mean when you say "root is blank doesn't say no but doesn't say yes".

The easiest way to check root is open terminal and type "su" without the quotes. If the prompt changes, then you have root.

Yeah, the su binary could be a little outdated. Superuser and Supersu both update it when installed.

Glad you got it working.

I'll be building CWM for this model soon.

I followed your directions, and it did not work. All I did to fix the WiFi was reflash the stock boot.img. Under where it says "flash storage" it says 8 GB, but nothing else. When I insert the sdcard I get the same issues as before. Maybe if I flashed the cm 10 that was mentioned earlier...

*gasp* I FIXED IT!!! For some reason, going into stock recovery and clicking "format /media" fixed it, but factory reset didn't. In case anyone else runs into this issue.
