Yeah, I would also volunteer if there's a real 1080p kernel that I can try. The one that you linked with the overclocked GPU seems to cheat: although my TV says that the input is 1080p (HDMI mode 1080p) xbmc and the antutu benchmark both state that the output is 720p only.

So I guess I was wrong when I said that 1080p works flawless. I only had "1080p->downscaling-to-720p->HDMI-mode-1080p" working.

    P.S.: Antutu score is 11.5k (ROM 1.0 with overlocked-gpu-kernel).

1080p @ 1080p is not possible on the mk808b, only the mk808 using a 4.1 rom as there are no overclockable custom kernels.

        Oh, I do have the mk808 w/o B.

And why do you think that there are no overclockable kernels for 4.2? What about the ones that
prahjister linked in the first post? I don't know if the "full speed" kernel works, but the other one with an overclocked GPU works stable and smooth.

Anyhow, so you think that it's a matter of speed that we can't have "real" 1080p on our mk808. But technically it should be possible, there's nothing in the mk808 that is bound to 720p, right?

I wrote an FAQ about all of this.

In a nutshell, nobody can figure out how to make a custom kernel + wifi/bt working, other ways have been to use rkpatchomatic on stock kernels but the overclocks (which I still think don't do anything after testing from myself and others) still don't get it anywhere near fast enough.

4.1 is needed because no custom mk808 kernels for 4.2 were released.

            What about Finless' 1080p kernels?

I never tried them but i guess they work in real 1080p. The only problem might be that they are now more than a year old. Maybe someone can convince Finless to patch the latest one...

              @ididmytime

Can you explain me what we get with command?

              "am display-size 1080x1920"

AnTuTu reports very close to 1080p

              Thanks

Going to try this method of comparing to find the 1080 gene....Happy hacking if someone else wants to try as well

Bobs 1080p kernel will not work on any of the latest 4.2 roms, they are only really for his Finless rom, which has the Netflix issue.

I also mentioned no 1080p @ 1080p because the user is using XBMC.

As for the resolution command, I believe with some tweaking that did work in getting 1080p to display, but that was also on the rk3188's, and some of those do have support for on the fly resolution change from 720p to 1080p with no upscalling, my CX-919 does this on stock kernels. If it works with this kernel that's good news for people wanting to use it, although you are still horribly crippled.

If it's reporting the correct resolution in Antutu/XBMC then I would call that fully working.

Oh good job, didn't see the post.

It might be worth reuploading the rom with 1080p and 720p versions, well done on getting it working.

I agree with you, by the way Antutu reports 1920x1032p with notiffication bar ON.

Any chance to have the drivers for Atheros wifi adapters included as well (ath9k*.*)? There should be people out there who still rely on external wifi adapters due to the antenna issue in MK808, and adding them will be highly appreciated.

Thank you, so far this looks like a really great software setup for the MK808.

xbmc reports 1920x1080 in fullscreen (with the fullscreen app that prahjister included) and 1080p HDMI mode. xbmc reported 1280x720 with the 720p kernel using 1080p HDMI mode. So we can be sure, that xbmc reports the real resolution (which is independent of the HDMI mode), and prahjister's 1080p kernel is a real 1080p kernel. Yay!

Then conclusion is 1080p exist on MK808B.
