sound bars are mostly stereo, true? if so... the 5.1 setting in xbmc is not to be used, nor is the OPTICAL/COAX option! u should use HDMI/analog.

have u experimented yet? i can tell u that SPDIF is not for you. only HDMI or ANALOG with this setup u have.
I think I lost you so let's take it a beat slower.

In android sounds devices I have 6 options:
    • RK29_RT5616 - which works but seems to be analog.
    • ROCKCHIP-SPDIF - which does not work - there are no clicking sounds of android.
    • RK29_RT5616 & ROCKCHIP-SPDIF - works ok.
    • ROCKCHIP-SPDIF PASSTHROUGH - does not work (no clicking sounds either).
    • RK29_RT5616 PASSTHROUGH - works and seems to provide better sounds.
    I chose the last one.

In XBMC I have only two options:
    • Analog - and then all the options of DTS,AAC and AC3 are disabled.
    • Optical/Coax - which I chose.
    Should I choose differently?

Should I install a different XBMC? maybe beyond XBMC is not good enough for my settings?
because the Gotham version seems to have HDMI and plays sounds much better. but it is buggy.

I also foundout that when using analog instead of optical the videos are played slowly with lots of freezes and funny slow voices.

In gotham i have hdmi option but there is weird delay between sound and video.

      Help please... :-(

Here u should choose ANALOG, because u use HDMI, not SPDIF(ie TOSLINK) and secondly, u use soundbar which is stereo. not 5.1. But i already read that when using ANALOG, u get video problems.
there are some more options in xbmc that u can play with in the system/settings menu. try 1 option at a time.

i am using the "standard" xbmc that came with this ROM of hardwareguru. works fine.
(Well... SLIGHT slowmotion sometimes. framerate drops to 22 frames/s sometimes instead of 24 :S)
but i recon its a LOT better that what u are experiencing

        PS:

analog is no problem, since u have soundbar which is stereo (2.0) is this correct?

Sounds are not deep and i do not feel surrondish in analog. That is annoying.

          Thank you mate

DTS and Dolby Digital Sound output

            Hi friends,

After buying the Minix it came with 008 firmware I tried to install other ROMs, for the first Quickshot v2, but the device did not perform the boot process at the end of flash, it remain stuck with the blue light turned off. Then I put back the stock 008 and I tried the KitKat 4.4.2, stable but with some unexpected restart. Next time I put 009 stock rom, and after the Guru .095 I have now.

Thank you a lot, HardwareGuru, for your efficient and stable Rom.
            But I have a few questions :

I can not use a static IP address via the normal procedure in the Android settings. After entering all the IP address there is no way to save the configuration in the window because there is no "OK" button to confirm the change. I worked around this problem by using the Settings application Minix instead of the standard Android settings and now the LAN works fine.

But the biggest problems I have is with the sound output.
I could not in any way to hear the audio Dolby Digital or DTS is present in many of my movies .
I'm going crazy trying to squeeze the DTS or Dolby Digital audio from my home theather system by changing the settings of my Minix Neo X7.

            I connected the Minix with:
            a) an HDMI cable to one of the HDMI inputs of the TV (Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500)
            b) a Toslink Optical cable to one of the optical inputs of the amplifier (old Denon AVR1800 it have not HDMI connectors but only two Optical input)

I tried all configuration listed below, selecting all settings under Sound Manager:

            1) RK29_RT5616
analog only, sound only from TV speakers (is normal)

            2) ROCKCHIP-SPDIF
no sound at all, not from TV Speaker and not from HiFi speakers

            3) RK29_RT5616 & ROCKCHIP-SPDIF
same option 1, sound only from TV speakers

            4) ROCKCHIP-SPDIF PASSTHROUGH
            no sound from TV speakers
the amplifier switch itself to Digital Input but the sound from HiFi Speakers are 2.0 Digital Stereo (only front speakers).
the red logo "Dolby Digital" or "DTS" on the amplifier display will not turn on

            5) RK29_RT5616 PASSTHROUGH
            no sound at all

With XMBC 12.4 Minix edition all the tests I've done by selecting:
channels: 5.1, DTS, AC3 and AAC is ON, "android, sountrack(PT)"
I also installed XMBC Gotham 13 beta 4 but in this version last option is disabled and can not be selected and it is locked on "android, sountrack".

            Any suggestions?
            Thanks a lot.

I have translated this post on Google, sorry for the bad English.

Using Guru 4a rev2 with hdmi 5) RK29_RT5616 PASSTHROUGH, in beyond xbmc using optical/digital 5.1 out with everything checked. That setting works fine for me and i am getting 5.1 to my yamaha receiver, but did run into no sound after initial boot. So had to go back to sound setting and switch to analog and then passthrough to reset it.

Frame stutter in android (ctoonHD and showbox) but XBMC smooth!!

Thanks for the ROM, I have spent many hours testing other ROMs on my Minix NeoX7 but so far yours is the best!!
My problem is that in Android apps (ctoonHD and showbox + MX player), I get a tiny but annoying stutter approx every second. This is most noticeable when shots pan but also while tracking single objects across the screen.
I have tried all the HDMI output settings and updated MX player.
XBMC for minix seems to be unaffected ????
It is driving me nuts trying to find a tweak or a ROM that is not effected.
                  What am I missing?
I have spent hours checking the forums so sorry if I have missed an answer to this somewhere.

NYKO Gamepad PRO issues on Minix x7

Till now I’m not very happy with the Nyko Gamepad Pro in combination with Android Minix X7 (I don’t have any other android hardware so i cant test it on other hardware)

As bluetooth he comes up as keyboard not as joystick.
Respons in the games are bad and the connection was gone every time. I tried to connect again but that he won’t (he keeps paired but wont connect).

I'm very happy with this ROM from HardwareGuru 04.
Question: can the problems have any thing to do with this ROM?

( I know it's a long shot, still waiting for an answer fron Nyko support)

                            Hi Rkoenis,

it pairs with my Macbook as keyboard. I have updated the firmware.
But still no pair with the minx x7

                              Firmware base?

Can someone please tell me what stock version (008, 009, etc) this firmware is based on. Thanks

I tried all the combinations last night but still the same. The problem is a slight pause in the streaming approx every second and particularly on panning shots. I only get the problem in Android players and not from XBMC. It is worse with hardware decryption. My Tv is a panasonic plasma so should be more than able to handle the screen refresh rates.
After exploring the forums it seems to be an android rockchip issue. I had similar problems with my old MX box which I cured by switching to a linux build launching XBMC only.....until HD became popular and the audio wouldn't support passthrough.
If there is no tweak then I'll have to make do until the X8 becomes available.
