i tried multiple times to flash this ROM, but after i flash it, i can only see the HardwareGuru logo for about a minute and then the box turns off.

i turn it back on and i can see a glowing HardwareGuru logo. After a little bit the screen goes black and the box turns off.

it does not matter what version i download.

i tried to flash multiple times.

    Windows 8 64bit RKDevelopTool_v1.37
    Windows 7 64bit RKDevelopTool_v1.37 or RKDevelopTool_v1.36

the official ROMs do work fine.
    anyone?

is it maybe the (over)clocked RAM?

why does it work on other neo x7? is mine sick?

You mentioned in your previous post you had used the RKDevelopTool to flash the ROM, correct? In the first post HWG states to flash with RKFlashTool. This could be causing the issue maybe?

AFAIK the RKDevelopTool is for flashing ROM's with the kernel .img "outside" the flash pack. For instance like TNT's Quickshot ROM which has multiple kernel options.

Hope this helps you out my friend?

        Pretty PLEASE

Or can this be just unarchived in linux and then thrown into
        ROM_Flash_Tool_137 ?
        with new parameters set?
Another user was interested in changing the partition size the link below contains some basic info.

I think the info is in post #9

A rehash of my original post - there seems to be a new version of the MINIX NEO X7-216A
This does not work with Bob's 8gb or above Parameter files - oh well back to the drawing board.

            XBMC problems

            Hello,

I came across some problem using XBMC (default xbmc - not beyond).
            1. All my movies are on an external USB. XBMC does not recognize them automatically. I need to go to add, then to root --> mnt --> USB storage.
I can map the videos folder to my USB and view them under XBMC's cool interface.

But if I switch my Minix off or restarting it, I have to map the path to the videos and define the videos folder layout all again. How can I make it permanent?
              .
            2. I have some sound problems. On android settings there are 6 options for SPDIF and Passthrough.
only some of them are working with netflix and youtube. But on XBMC I can only play some of my movies and series. I might hear nothing or I might hear static buzz...

These videos work fine if I connect the USB directly to the TV (Built in lousy streamer).
              .
            3. I found out there is about 200 ms delay on movies and series playing. Aeon NOX allows you to add a delay and fix it but it might ruin something else.
How can I solve these things?

            Thanks,.

Interesting.... I've worked on ROM's for Ainol Tablet which had multiple hardware builds. My X7 is a 216A same as yours.

If you still have the original Rom installed - then take a backup and U/L so as to give the DEV's here something to munch on

                  Hi Guru and All,

I upgraded X7 to firmare 010 beta, then I tried to root it but it was not successfully.

I also used your tool, but not work: Tool to root: http://xbmc.hardwareguru.nl/MinixNeoX7_Utility.zip

please support me to root X7.

                  Thanks all,

You only need to unzip the .zip then flash the .img file using RKbatchtool v1.7
I use HWG ROM and it works sweet on my x7

                          Just out of curiosity

I have noticed ever since I have my X7 that a few times I get a message on my Galaxy S3 that the home wifi connection is unstable(even when not streaming anything, just have X7 turned on). Last year when I had a MK908ii for a few months my wife would always complain that the internet would always be slow when I had it turned on.

Anyone else experiance this sort of thing? It might only be when the X7 wifi is turned on, not when only using ethernet) At most we usually only have 5 or 6 mbps speed if that makes any difference.

                              Pass through problems in XBMC

                              Hello,

I installed this ROM (not the c version) and it's great but I have a problem with the sounds in XBMC.

In android sound setting there are 6 sound options. Tried them all and and I found one which works well with Youtube and Netflix. I also get good surround from my sound bar.

But in XBMC, while watching my own media, I can see everything fine but can't hear most of my vids.
I either hear nothing or some annoyingly loud static bass.
It could be my videos are not so good, but I can watch them with no problems if I connect the external USB directly to my TV - So I thing it is something with the Minix unit.

In XBMC sound settings I see that it's set to OPTICAL with 2.1 as I want it to be, but under passthrough there is: Error device not found (or something like this).

                              can anyone help me?

                              regards,
                              id

thats what i thought, so i went ahead and flashed the .img file with the flasher and all went well, except that it does not go pass the Bootscreen.

                                It just turns off.

                                1. box into fastboot
                                2. flash ROM
                                3. bootlogo appears after app 1 minute
                                4. box turns off
                                5. i turn it back on
                                6. bootlogo
                                7. box turns off.

i flashed it now almost 10 times with no luck.
i had the same problems when i flashed overclocked kernels.*maybe a hint*
