Hi guys,
I downloaded rev2 but I still have stutter issues with NPO uitzendinggemist. Both in the app as in any browser that I tried. However, there is an app called "Gemist", that one is streaming perfectly (but I prefer the nativ NPO app). Also, the XBMC app with NPO plugin is streaming fine. Hence, it IS possible to have a good stream with this rom.
Is there any solution for the NPO app? I downloaded rev2 again but I realised that the rar filename is "Guru_X7_1080p_preloaded_04aR1_malipatch_public_HL S". Isn't that R1 and incorrect?

I cant instal this rom
hello hardwareguru
I make several attemps to install your rom bat after the boot image the screen fills up with coloured lines and crash out .
I am sure that the problem is that this rom has overclocked ram.
I have the same problem with alls roms with overclocked kernel.
I am very angry because my x7 only works with stock kernels.
At first i thought that probably was psu problem but i change the stock psu with another with same voltage 5.0 V but more power 5000mampers instead of the 3000 stock and nothing changed ,always crashes with any overclocked kernel.
I really wont to test your rom but i dont know why i cant
Any advise ????
Thanks anyway
Michael

Hardware Guru Rom and XBMC
Hello all, I got my Minix Neo X7 in Jan sometime, and it had the 008 rom in it, with the XBMC 12.4 version.
And I noticed a lot of crashes, usually where it would lock up and not be responsive and the only solution was to pull the plug. Almost all of these crashes happened when you did some form of multi-tasking, like leaving XBMC running and going to the home page and then Browser, but lockups happened just on the home page, or in the Browser, but I dont really recall it locking up INSIDE XBMC, or if it did, it didnt happen too much.
Anyways, one time, after one of these lockups, upon rebooting back into Minix, I noticed it was complaining that my SDCARD was invalid or corrupted... I could not mount it, I did several reboots, and I was forced to format it and got my 10gb SDCARD back again.
I have two 4TB HD's, one with TV Shows and one with Movies... I lost all the library contents in XBMC, because it stored that data in the SDCARD.
Anyways... back in those days, it would take about an hour to add 5 seasons of TV shows. So I cleared XBMC data, UNMOUNTED that 10.4GB SDCARD and ran XBMC which set it up for first use.
I added 5 seasons, and it took about 3-5 mins instead of an hour!!! The SDCARD was still unmounted, so it had to be storing the data on internal memory! I found out where, data/data/hk.minix.xbmc (yes - I rooted my minix box, and my phone and my tablet).
I added about 120 tv series with whatever amount of seasons each one had, some had 3 seasons, some 6, some 8, some 10...etc etc... and it took about 34 mins!
I have just flashed Hardware Guru's 04aRev2 - HLS rom, and it is awesome compared to the stock rom!
On the 008 rom, when I played 24gb mkv blu's, it would play 5-7 seconds fine, then a lag of 1/10th of a second and play like that all the way through... now with HG's rom, it plays those, I did a 28gb mkv through SMB share and it worked fine, of course the initial few seconds and the begining stuttering, maybe because of buffering in the background.
Great ROM Hardware Guru!
Only question I have (to anyone who knows) is, is there a settings file for XBMC that I can edit with root explorer to make XBMC default to storing all its settings in data/data/hk.minix.xbmc instead of the SDCARD?
Naturally when I boot up, unmount the SDCARD, run XBMC, it doesn't see any SDCARD so it uses internal instead, but even though it does that, if I ever forget to unmount the SDCARD and run XBMC, all the settings and library is empty and I have to add them which takes forever because that SDCARD is a very slow NAND FLASH.
Personally I would like to change this, so it defaults to saving its settings to internal EVEN IF the SDCARD is present, then I wouldn't have to unmount the SDCARD at all!
Another question (for anyone who knows), I notice you included XBMC 12.38 in your rom, while the 008 has 12.4. Is there any reason? Is there any benefits or advantages to 12.38 over 12.4? I can watch true 1080p in either version? Is there some known bugs or issues with 12.4?
The only reason I put back the 12.4 is because it's startup screen is more polished versus the 12.38's one. Thats the only reason.
And my Minix is connected to my Samsung TV with HDMI only, and from my TV I have an optical audio cable going to my Kenwood reciever. That way ANY audio that comes out of my TV goes to my reciever via optical audio cable. And in my Settings/Sound Device Manager/output is set at RK29_RT5616, and there are no probs.
I have read people talking about passthrough and dropouts... Wont I still get Dolby Surround Sound using RT5616? I have heard my rear speakers at times. I only have one optical audio input on that reciever, and I have other devices that connect to the TV, like bluray players, computer, so this way whatever is on the screen goes out the optical.
My relevent hardware:
Minix Neo X7
Logitech C170 USB Webcam
Logitech MK270 USB Cordless RF Mouse & Keyboard
HGST Touro Desk DX3 4TB NTFS 5400rpm External Hard Drive (SMB Share)
HGST Touro Deskpro 4TB NTFS 7200rpm External Hard Drive (SMB Share)
- The SMB Shares are connected to my Desktop computer running WINDOWS XP 32-Bit!!! And they are full, so the 2.5tb limit for 32-bit operating systems that doesn't use uuid doesn't seem to be a problem for me!
My next project though...change the drives to EXT3 filesystem then connect them to little NAS server that accepts USB external harddrives (MLX-652), copying a movie to that NAS server with a NTFS HD was going to take 70 mins, while the same movie took 17 mins to NAS with EXT3 HD.
Anyone know how to do NFS instead of SMB? NFS is faster than SMB, but I always ran into a problem with cifs manager, I had to make my own .ko module?! Anyone know a link to get this done?
Cheers

Did you use the Rockchip Flashtool (Rkflash) or the RK Developertool?
You should use the normal Rkflash to flash the HardWareGuru firmware.
If you did use the correct flash tool and followed the steps and the problem still persists, I would think that your Minix X7 is causing the problem. This wouldn't be normal. I have flashed multiple roms and it never failed on me.
If you need help on how to flash, youtube has a good video from "somecooltech" which describes the steps and provides you with the link to the correct flash tool.
Hope this helps

HWGDoes anyone know why the A2 remote drains the battery so quickly? It's horrible. And the fact that I paid $32 bucks for it is looking as if that was a waste of money.
