First thank you very much for your hard work. You cook very nice rom and minix community is very lucky to have you. I would like to discuss with you today about a streaming issue presents in all roms ... not just yours. I would very appreciate if you could have a small look at it. You are the only one who got the skill for that ! If you can solve that problem, your rom would be by far the best of the best ! Below is my small sotry ...

I love tennis and I'm using TennisTV (http://www.tennistv.com/) to watch live matches. I have installed their android app on the minix x7 and after playing a live stream for about 5sec, it always stops. That issue happens only with the live streaming ... no problem with their free video contents. Therefore, if you are ready to investigate this problem, you will need a subscription. I'm ready to pay you a 1 month subscription. Just let me know your private email and I will send you your user name ans password for login. For information, I tried on my android phone and I got not problem with the live streaming.

I know where this isue comes from and we can not easely solve this in the current firmware base.
If i make one that works it will be a verry unstable firmware.
MiniX sayes it is caused by DRM ( digital rights managment ), HDMI detection, fake root etc.... wich is not true.
When i have time soon i will make one especialy for this cause but dont expect it to be stable.
Next 2 weeks i am verry busy on my work so it can take some time for me to get at it.

By curiosity, why the firmware would become unstable if patching this problem? What kind of compromise have to be done ?

The firmware evolution of this box looks quite complex.
Hope there is a way to reconcile the old stuff with the new ones

Just installed the 4aR1 (also tried 4c BTW) and I am having a problem with one of my aps Galaxie Mobile from Stingray Digital (a music streaming aps with a 7 day free trial). Although it run well on my S3 phone and Galaxy 10 tablet I can run this aps without it crashing on only one MINIX rom thus far: HFW_3.2_by_lewy20041!

Maybe unrelated info but I also have installed the music aps Songza which run well on all ROM including 4aR1 with one exception HFW_3.2_by_lewy20041.

Not sure if anyone else could try it to confirm the problem but it you be nice if this could be fix as something tells me that it could benefit the entire MINIX X7 community in some unexpected way (i.e fixing other aps out there).

Try the rom posted above (http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post154928)
it has a few things changed to test...
i tested some streaming apps that usaly dont work on android 4.2.2.. they work now..
Maybe it works for your app too

HardwareGuru, I just tried with the new HLS rom but I am still experiencing the same behavior (aps crashes after clicking on the channel selection). Any chance you could try it and validate if you get the same?

so far so good. Quick question. In your bundled minix xbmc in system->sound output->passthrough it says error no device detected. I selected SPDIF passthrough in android settings. Is it normal?
In flumpster beyound xbmc beta 3.3 pass through device is detected.

Another unrelated question. I know what kernel is hidden in your ROMs. Is it possible to overclock CPU by aps from playstore?

This is the minix beta 2, i think it should work even without detecting the device.
Please let me know if passtrhrough works on this xbmc edition.

Yes if you rooted it cpu values can be changed by apps as normal.

- When you first boot, wait till "Airpin starts" before doing anything or the app installer will abort !! you will end up without preloaded apps !! This can take some time !! just be patiant !!...

Sorry ... I don't know English well, so I may have misunderstood, or it can escape myself an explanation later ...

I have waited a long time as explained in the 1st post, but nothing happened ... As you know, Airpin starts only with wireless active, so I had to enable and configure the wireless to continue setup.


Was I wrong? I had to do differently?
