I make several attemps to install your rom bat after the boot image the screen fills up with coloured lines and crash out .
I am sure that the problem is that this rom has overclocked ram.
I have the same problem with alls roms with overclocked kernel.
I am very angry because my x7 only works with stock kernels.
At first i thought that probably was psu problem but i change the stock psu with another with same voltage 5.0 V but more power 5000mampers instead of the 3000 stock and nothing changed ,always crashes with any overclocked kernel.
I really wont to test your rom but i dont know why i cant
          Any advise ????

          Thanks anyway

Hi, i got the exact same problem...... does not matter what flash tool i choose.
i guess its the overclocked RAM too.

I'm not really an expert, have you guys tried quickshot's rom? or finless rom? do you experienced the same thing with those roms? I was thinking maybe it's the TV that has a problem. Guru and Quickshot roms initially boots in 720p and 1080p in the second boot (where we can see the creator's boot animation logo), so maybe just maybe switching from 720p to 1080p causes the problem.

One thing you can do guys is to root your stock rom, finless made a root updater for the latest firmware (pre-010) and then flash (just the kernel) guru's kernel using RkAndroidTool.

yes works fine as long as you don't put a overclocked kernel with it. its not the TV what turns off, its the x7 ..... blue LED turns off.

I am getting no sound out of HDMI after initial boot. I had to change the sound settings to hardware decoder and back to passthrough for the sound to work. Otherwise a couple of crashes here and there, but pretty much stable. Thanks for the great ROM. The other I used was Quickshot v2, but I actually like this better in performance.

1st off rom is awesome, smooth playback and loading times but has anyone had a problem where they are watching something on XBMC and it just stops? is it a rom issue or is it simply the stream on whatever repo just 'gives up'? haha

                  cheers

its a very valid question since this rom is preloaded with 1080p kernel... duh

Yes you can run it on a 720p TV, it will boot in 720p, and after that people can change it to 1080p from the settings.

                        Hi - Guru

I have a very specific and big favor to ask
Is there any chance I can get this ROM with an 8gb parameter file set - now I already know how to do it another away - and trust me I know all the in's and outs. But I need it to test a theory that would take an age for me to explain. So if you can find the time and post a D/L link then you would be helping me out no end.

Thanks - just PM me if you don't want it in thread, I have a very specific and annoying problem that I think this could fix.

                          Still having some sound problems

                          Hello,

I an still facing sound problems. I chose the last option in the sound devices menu (something pass-through).
                          1. Sometimes there are no sounds at all (not even the clicking sound). It is fixed if I put my Minix in sleep mode for a moment and wake it up.
                          2. Dolby digital works only with MX player - not XBMC.
It was a beat better after I uninstalled the pre-installed Minix XBMC and installed beyond xbmc, but still - DD movies, and some movies with 5.1 channels are soundless.

by the way, Gotham XBMC beta4 seems to play everything with no problem but Im not sure it uses the pass-through and it is buggy.

Anyone knows how to fix sound issues?

well, depending on the cable u are using, which nobody specifes, i am guessing u use TOSLINK, from minix to receiver.

if so, u should indeed set sound to SPDIF PASSTHROUGH in android.
and in XBMC u should set it to OPTICAL/COAX and 5.1 like here:

                              First, thanks.

I am using HDMI cable to connect the X7 to the TV - and the TV (Samsung) is connected directly to a Samsung sound-bar using optical wire.

If I connect the external Hard-Drive directly to the TV and play the movies via the TV's internal player - all works fine. Including very good sound quality.

Ahaa, well then we must use different settings in android. first of all, u are using an HDMI cable to transport the sound from minix to TV. from there u use optical to soundbar.

sound bars are mostly stereo, true? if so... the 5.1 setting in xbmc is not to be used, nor is the OPTICAL/COAX option! u should use HDMI/analog.

have u experimented yet? i can tell u that SPDIF is not for you. only HDMI or ANALOG with this setup u have.
