Sorry ... I don't know English well, so I may have misunderstood, or it can escape myself an explanation later ...

I have waited a long time as explained in the 1st post, but nothing happened ... As you know, Airpin starts only with wireless active, so I had to enable and configure the wireless to continue setup.


Was I wrong? I had to do differently?

You did good, i am used that most use a tthernet cable
You just have to wait till all apps are installed, this can take some time.

I hope some of you can verify if HLS streaming apps are working now.

HLS apps:
- Please let me know wich apps do work now wich did not in other roms.
- Also wich do not work anymore that worked in others.
Audio apps:
- can someone test if google play works properly?


At the moment i have confirmed NPO working. ( dutch live TV app )

Bluetooth can not be activated - SOLVED

Damn ... another problem ... I apologize for the trouble ...
It is decoupled bluetooth keyboard. There was no way to re-pair it ...
So, I turned off the keyboard, I rebooted Minix - NOT do anything else - and I restarted the Minix.
Now the bluetooth on the Minix I do not activate it anymore ..
If I try to flag the checkbox "Activate Bluetooth" this is not remains checked!

the third reboot now the bluetooth is ticked and active.


Only it does not recognize the keyboard ... I turned off the keyboard several times and I redid the pair, I also replaced the batteries, but to no avail. but with no results.

On Minix, the bluetooth, the switch settings does not work!

Is there a way to delete from the Minix bluetooth pairing with the keyboard (decouple)then restore it??
What can I do?

Please .... the alternative is to reinstall the rom again ..


It was simple, but it took me a long time to understand ...

For each Bluetooth device paired, on the right is the symbol of the configuration, which however can not be used with the remote control supplied standard: it requires a pointing device, the pad of the keyboard, which did not work, or .... A USB MOUSE!

The newly inserted USB mouse was immediately recognized, and then I could click on the button configuration of the USB keyboard which among other things allows the decoupling.

After having decoupled I made a new pair and it went all right.

Nice that you got HLS streaming apps working. I own a Minix X5 and the NPO live streaming doesn't work on that one.

Would you mind sharing which files you patched to get HLS streaming working?

When I compare the 2 firmwares (with and without HLS streaming) there are different libraries for libffmpeg.so, libhevcdec.so, libmediaplayerservice.so, librk_on2.so, librkffplayer.so. Did you compile the firmware from sources or did u use libraries from other firmwares?

(I want to fix the 4.2.2 firmware on the X5 to get HLS streaming working)

Hi,

First of all, thanks to HardwareGuru for working on this ROM.

I'd just like to ask if there's a known issue with VPN. I've recently installed Stable: 04a.Rev1 from stock rom. I was able to successfully create a VPN connection but when I try to connect, it says 'no connection found'. I was using Ethernet connection, but also tried using Wifi just to make sure. Whenever I do check the connection and go back to VPN, the account I previously created was gone.

Please advise. TIA!

TennisTV app is now working ... amazing !
There is no sign of instability in this firmware ... google play works properly.

Note:
If you watch a live tennis match for more than 5 minutes (hope you like tennis ), you will probably start experiencing freezing (can last a few second and quite frequent). I do not have those freezing if using my iPad or android phone. Still for now the best way is through the web browser (also not perfect but less freezing). Is there still room for optimization in the way you handle HLS ?

MINIX Metro launcher with your HarwareGuru ROM 04

I am a newbie...from the time I found HardwareGuru since ROM 3, I love using it and I am now on ROM 4....however, I found in the Minix Forum a "MINIX Metro launcher" where it basically appears to be Windows 8.1....I have not tried it, but I wish to have that feel but still with HardwareGuru Rom 4....Is that possible? Or can I just download launchers from Playstore with Windows 8.1 theme to have such effect? As I have said I am a newbie ....

The metro launcher is an application (apk) so you can install it like a program over HWG rom, it should be working (keep in mind that it's still in "evaluation build")

I have just got a Minix Neo X7, and I would love to use the firmware that you build.
Could someone please tell me step-by-step what to do to upgrade or point me to an already existing description or youtube video? I don't understand the description in the first post, so for a newbie like me it must be missing some details.

Is simple, but long to explain since there are several steps needed
I would like to help, but I do not know English well, so it becomes much more complicated.
