Hello Riley, i am doctor PIC , technical guy from "italian Pipo's community". I also installed your 2.6b ROM, and i want to congratulate about this great job. Everything works fine, only issue is the 3g connection. It always show 1 bar. By timen to time, it shows 3g, for 3-4 seconds and then it disapear. Are you checking a solution to solve this issue ? I congratulate you again in the name of our community. Bye. PIC

Before we go tweaking the 3G signal...please check your actual signal strength. What you are encountering is likely an inaccurate display.

In order for users to rely on deep sleep to save battery, I include a patched libril file in the system. Unfortunately...for some...it compromises 3G signal. I'm at work...so I can't provide a link...but maybe someone can post the stock libril file for you to try. You might look for it on the M6 Pro thread.

Mostly it works
Riley. Thanks a lot. After trying a few of the mods, and suffering through some of the noted issues, I flashed and then re-flashed the 'B' version and cleared up most of my lingering issues.
GPS and the power button now work. Neither did for the first few flashes.
Pushing the "on/off" button will put it into a constant reboot state after about 5 minutes. I am guessing there this is the deep-sleep issue someone mentioned.
I now have Wifi issues The previous flash images that were loaded did not have Wifi issues, but now I do. The wifi is slow and then doesn't communicate for about 30-60 seconds and then it will for a few minutes. It seems to be centered around something specific. I show full bars at all times, and my router shows a modest connection speed at about 64MB. My cell phone is slightly slower, but no issues there. I say this, because my game will pause, but if I jump to my mail or browser, they will work just fine. I head back to the game and it is still paused. Sometimes, but not usually this hit's the browser. Weird right. I opted for a 6gb system partition (just dropped that tidbit)
Download is dirt slow for some apps. I'm kinda surprised that many of the apps use PCCWGlobal.net for their cloud. Is there a stack issue somewhere? Do I need to set DNS to 8.8.8.8?
As a second side note, my box says Max-M9Pro on the front. But it says M9Pro on the back where the serial no is located. For a while I didn't know if I had gotten a MAX device or the M9Pro.
Does anybody have some insight about this odd wifi issue? Either way, this build is much better than the stock build.
Thanks

I'm curious about other user experiences.

Congratulations to the great Riley
Hello Riley,
are PIC Doctor, the technician of "Pipo Italian Community." I've also installed this ROM 2.6b, and I want to compliment you on this great work. It all works very well only weak spot and 'receiving 3G. It comes with a notch out of four. Every now and then, beside the small icon written 3g, 3~4 seconds and then disappears. Are you studying a remedy to overcome this situation? I renew to you compliments from throughout the Community .

That is due to the patched libril file we use to allow deep sleep to work. Unfortunately it compromises 3G a little. Some users have had to install the stock file to gain better 3G reception...but loosing battery savings while in deep sleep.

Re: Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 2.6 KitKat
I wanted to do a small follow up on some previous posts I made over the last week or so.
I was having WiFi issues after flashing this ROM, but this issue continued with other ROM's I also flashed (even though the problems seemed to be worse with KK than with JB for some reason).
I previously had opened up the tablet and applied the paper/tape modification that was discussed in another post, but the problem persisted with each ROM I tried. This morning I opened it up again and re-did this same modification, but used a little more paper and tape in a few more places. For the last few hours, I haven't had one WiFi drop and my connection has been a solid 65Mbps (its never been so good and I hope it continues this way).
So if I sounded like I was blaming this ROM in my previous posts for my WiFi issues, I sincerely apologize to the developer.
One thing I did notice as I was flashing all of the different ROM's, with the JB versions, the kernel would show the use of 1600mhz clock in JB where it doesn't show it in the KK ROM (with AnTuTu though, the benchmark scores were about the same when comparing 1600Mhz (JB) and 1400mhz (KK).
Glad I got that off my chest : )
Thanks,
LDN

Yesterday I tried the following and until now I had no poweroff:
I put the Pipo in flightmode (no 3G connection) and turned on wifi.
This seemed to resolve the off switching for me, but no 3G.
BUT, I am not sure if this has anything to do with it o if I was just Lucky it didnt turn off.
This is the only thing that I'm not 100% happy with - everything else is looking great (GPS test at least sees the GPS as switched ON, haven't tested yet).
If there's anything I can do to help (like get debug logs) I'm happy to do so, but will need instructions on how to do it.
Again, thanks for your work Randy, this is a great ROM!
Edit: I've already flashed the ROM twice (successful both times), but unfortunately that hasn't improved the situation.
