I tried Trickstermod and used the Frequency lock. Because there is a scaling initd it seems to override any CPU setting you try and set it to.

I don't really need it any faster, I'm just a tweak freak for performance.

Additional problem with Vega s89 "Standard" 16 Gb

      1. I cannot seem to write to or move items to my 32Gb sd card. It is Sandisk, formatted TAT32 and tested on Win7.

      2. I cannot save anything other than dowload free apps from play store. Downloading images or anything else, just does not work.

      3. I use a Logitech k400 remote keyboard, which works great, except I cannot change between upper and lower case. This can only be done by using an air mouse and clicking on the shift arrow of the 'onscreen' keyboard, which always shows up when inputting text.

I mention this so that you guys can implement turning the onscreen keyboard "OFF". There is a checkmark in settings to to this, but it does not work. Does anyone else have these problems? Will 1.2 fix them or should I wait?

      Talking about remote mice:
I ordered 3 different ones. All have some features that work. None have all features working. Some with keyboard and mouse combined, have letters that just don't function. Those units are totally useless anyway, because the left mouse button is a "non-distinct", hard to find by feel only button, which is surrounded by similar size keyboard "key" buttons.

I ze old kontry ve call this "defective thinking in the design process"

Copy / paste from internal to external 64G SD works for me. I downloaded 1.2 ROM on internal then realized I needed it on an SD card.

My microsoft remote keyboard worked same as yours, ie CAPS or SHIFT did not work with stock ROM. But I see they are working now with 1.2 ROM.

I see Finless is about to release a new ROM, so you'll probably just want to load it.

All this stuff is new to me, so its great to find an excellent forum like this with knowledgable & helpful people.

That's good to know! Means the messed up the .kl file for the K400. If it is good in 1.2 then I will steal it from there

Yes it will be better than T428! Great device this.
Shitty remote though... Very basic and no ff/rw/stop.
Also got c270 cam. Get voice just fine but no video with skype. Still want to try camere trough. Let me know if you get it working.

                      • [*=left]Yes, and no. This device has a S802 SoC, so the physical hardware does not support passthrough audio. It would need to have S802-H for that.
[*=left]However, XBMC does software decoding and passthrough audio works perfectly for Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1.

I think this must be must be corrected (I also wrothe something wrong at another thread, but can't find it...)

If I read this (and at a German forum)
S802 and S802-H differences (pass-through vs. hardware decoding)
                    all 3 SoC (S802, S802-B, S802-H) have pass-through but only -B have Dolby-Digital and -H have Dolby-Digital/DTS HardWare decoding inside the SoC...

I think decoding means downmix to stereo, or am I wrong?
                    (But XBMC and MX-Player with XDA-audio-Pack doesn't need HW-decoding)

Correct. I'll fix it (and other updates) when I get back from vacation and have access to a PC on Friday.

Does this have any OTA updating functionality? Probably even more of a long shot, but what about once you go to Finless...any chance for OTA updating then?

It seems like I have been doing research endlessly for a new network player. I started out looking at WD TV Live, and then decided that XBMC may be the best route. So then I started looking at all the options there. I have even looked at full HTPC computers, but the cost was a bit more than I wanted to spend. So, I started looking for Android, and finally landed here. As far as I can tell from what I have read, this unit will give me the best performance for XBMC than any other non-HTPC setup currently available. Would you agree with that?

What's the difference between the Tronsmart Vega s89 and the Tronsmart M8?

Edit: Disregard this part. I found it.

                          Thanks much in advance.

PS - do any of you have experience with this one? I wonder if it would match up. I really like that it has eSATA. If I wanted to, it would allow me to connect my RAID system directly to it.

Just one very simple question to understand this part:

Which SoC is enough if I want to hear a sound from any video (DTS, Dolby Digital, whatever...) on my 5 years old Panasonic plasma (in stereo)?

Very simple question but not so simple answer:
If you only use XBMC and MX-Player with XDA-audio-Pack (for DD and DTS) you only need S802, because XBMC and MX-Player will be able to decode the DD and DTS and downmix/downsize it to stereo,
but if you use other players (e.g. also web browser, audio-player, netflix-player,...), maybe they need the HW DD and DTS support at the S802-H to downmix/downsize it to stereo (but I'm not sure at this 'maybe')...
