How does the titanium backup for paid apps work to install them?

So some commentary I didn't think needed to be in the FAQ. I love hate relationship with this remote.

I first got what I thought was a pretty cool remote from **** that had all of the functions I was looking for an a remote for Android that has 90% XBMC use. I do wish it had a damn stop button. Seriously HK wake up and give me all the media controls! Play/Pause, Stop, Rwd, FF, Next, Previous and captions. But I was really digging the idea of getting a remote with IR learning that didn't cost me $60 and has an air mouse. When I got it though it was a complete nightmare! The IR learning worked ONE TIME for the power button and once I tried to switch it to another TV the power button stopped working for IR learning completely. Slowly one by one the rest of the buttons stopped having their IR ability and finally I was just left with the air mouse and keyboard. Then the back button on the remote started sticking 1/3 presses causing me to exit from wherever I am back to the XBMC home screen. I let it sit on a table for 2-3 months making sure to give it a dirty look every time I noticed it was there.

Then I found out it wasn't that rare of an air mouse and geekbuying had it, I ordered one from GB on a whim and it turned out to be my favorite remote. I tore them both apart and while the external case may look similar they are completely different inside. The GB one worked with every feature, though it did still come with a manual that had me in tears from laughing at some of the translations. Gotta love the HK market, don't even get me started about electronic cigarette clones and knock offs.

Anybody try the new Minix air mice yet? I can't wait to get my hands on some different remotes now that I actually have a device I can stand to use.

I'm also looking for a good IR/RF remote to replace the crappy one we get with the device. For the love of God I cannot understand why they don't include a Stop/FF/RW!!

This one is my favorite so far, I just wish they would make one that didn't turn the air mouse on by default every time it comes out of low power mode. I only want the air mouse when I damn well turn it on. I don't think I'll ever be satisfied until I have that but I welcome any manufacturer to try.

S89 Wifi issues

I got the Tronsmart S89 - Elite yesterday. There appears to be a problem with the WIFI on this devise as I am only able to get download speeds of 1mbps or even lesser at times even though I am getting full signals. I can get speeds upto 7.5 mbps with my other devises such android phone and ipad in the same location. My wifi router just sits around 15 away.

As a result of this slow connection I cannot play Youtube and other video playback sites except with a great amount of lag.

Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution for this.

I was able to use speedtest.net app and got 10mbps (not bad considering I'm on a 12mbps connection)

mmm... Not dure how fast it should be.
There is a wire soldered to a wifi antenna glued to the box lid. Wander if that wire is not broken off or worse - if the antenna was forgotten?

IPerf - In-house network testing and performance measurement tool

You will need to download IPerf software and load it on both machines.

At Android: iPerf for Android => Start it as Server with „-s“ (and toggle between off to on and select the IP-Address)

At Windows, MAC, Linux use JPerf as client and enter at „Client -> Server address:“ the above selected IP-Address and change „Transmit“ from 10 to 600 (sec) and hit [Run IPerf!]...

I've attached the JPerf 2.0.2 (Java GUI) including iPerf-binary for Windows.
Start it with 'jperf.bat'...

That's one of the reasons I went for this box, my 2.4Ghz network used to do that all the time, 5Ghz on the standard works fine for me but I see you have the Elite so can't switch to that.

I never thought at the time but you could try hiding your SSID, I wonder if polling from devices like phones slows it down when they see it or it's maybe just interference, worth a go though. Also if you can use WPA2 encryption I seem to remember reading that is needed for the higher throughput, I know it sounds nuts but it helped me.

Good luck, hope some of that helps as I know how annoying it is.

Also, is the problem with audio and video sync only in XBMC, or in other players as well?

CPU freq is still set to 1.6 in kernel but it can do 2 its just not on by default. Not really a known issue as it functions just fine and next software update will fix it.

Eric says its up to 2ghz in the new Rom. Hopefully they'll have given the minimum frequency a boost up also.
